Oh, very cool. My brother loved the book this was based on, and this looks like it could be a visual masterpiece and great story. I'll be looking forward to this.

Looks phenomenal! I'm extremely anxious to see how this translates to film... There is very little dialog in the book, and most of the story is told through the thoughts and emotions of Pi. I hope they are able to convey those things on screen without ending up as nearly silent films like Castaway or 127 Hours.

In the novel, the tiger can talk a habit it reveals after a number of days lost at sea. (Though the possibility is left open that it's a hallucination on Pi's part. It remains to be seen how the movie will handle it, if at all.)

It would best be termed magical realism. I wouldn't categorise it as science fantasy. Looks good, although the music in the trailer doesn't seem apt somehow.
