..put on a suit of medieval full-plate knight armour?

Instant, near-total invulnerability to zombie bites and scratches.

A squad of plate armoured knights with sharp swords and shields could easily cleave through a zombie horde, decapitating as they went. A follow up eachelon could destroy the severed heads (immobilised but still active as long as the brain is undamaged) in their wake at leisure.

Well, if they were fast zombies, the armor would make it a bit difficult to run away from a quickly-approaching horde. Plus, you can't really see for shit in those helmets.

Plus, not many modern-day people have a full suit of armor lying around the house. Those who did would probably only have replicas, which aren't that strong.

If the zombies ever do rise I'm going to a S & M store and stocking up on chainmail shirts. I'll have to see if they have chain mail pants as well. I don't want to be stuck in the middle of a zombie apocalypse in nothing more than a chain mail shirt and a pair of assless chaps. :lol:

As Auntie said, not many folks have one sitting around their home, and you'll likely to have to survive going through a horde to get to somewhere that had one, and where might that be. Imagine if you barely survived getting past the Zombies, and getting into someplace you thought would have one, and then find out there isn't one there, so, you have to survive through the horde again to continue your quest. And then of course, there is the lack of mobility she mentioned.

Sure it would be a decent and maybe even a great idea, if you happen to have one, or have access to one, but, what are the odds?

Well zombies are usually depicted as being pretty strong, so they'd probably rip the helmet (or some other piece of armor) right off.

And since you wouldn't be able to run away, you'd be screwed.
