Anyone else find Naomi Wildman annoying?
Seems like a lot of people not only can stand Naomi Wildman, but actually LIKE her. I never could, she just bugged me. I mean to me, she has Neelix levels of being annoying with a Wesley Crusher twist.
So, does anybody not like her as I do, or if you do like her: why? Thank you. |

And Neelix, when I watched the First run live (Spotty viewing at best), I thought Neelix was a complete oaf, fool and a joke. However, after just finishing a complete rewatch of the Series for the first time, I found Neelix to be quite a valuable member of the crew and far more of a comeptent Warrior with far more courage than I ever would've thought from my initial viewing during First Run. *Sorry, just can't seem to come up with any arguments to defend you Wesley, other than you don't annoy me so bad it destroys every episode you're in. |
Re: Anyone else find Naomi Wildman annoying?
I've never found her annoying. Same deal with Jake Sisko and even Wesley Crusher.

I never had a problem with her being there.

Re: Anyone else find Naomi Wildman annoying?
Cute little kid, provided Seven with invaluable friendship and a "sister" kind of relationship as well as a teacher-student relationship.
The only thing I didn't like about her were those stupid Flotter stories. Surely by the 24th century, kids must have imaginary friends less annoying than that (reminds me of Barney the Dinosaur kind of annoying). |
Re: Anyone else find Naomi Wildman annoying?
We only saw her as a kid.
Some Transitional episodes where she falls in love or does something incredibly violent. Disney stories are fine, it's the loss of innocence that's interesting, but Voyager didn't last that long. |
Re: Anyone else find Naomi Wildman annoying?
I liked Naomi, and found the introduction of the Borg kids distracted from the humanizing elements the relationship with Naomi had for Seven. I liked the idea that they shared a common home in Voyager and the Delta Quadrant as shown in 'Bliss' and Namoi's use of Borg designations, seemingly to rile mom, mentioned in the episode with the 3 severed borg. (I can't remember the episode.) They had a great relationship that might have been explored further, I wish it had been. Rather than the Borg kids, I'd preferred Sam have been written out and Seven take over her up bringing based on her established closeness with Naomi.

not annoying. Not even close to Wesley.

Re: Anyone else find Naomi Wildman annoying?
Kids are annoying. She was ok, for a kid. Liked her with Seven ... I like anybody with Seven

Re: Anyone else find Naomi Wildman annoying?
I never understood why they brought her in and made her a main character. I think she was best in season 2 and 3.

Re: Anyone else find Naomi Wildman annoying?
I used to detest her when I was younger, but came to appreciate her role more years later when I rewatched the series. Her interactions with Seven were good usually, though from time to time she would grate a bit. That's just child actors in general though.
Wesley Crusher was just a terribly conceived and written character on the whole, and doesn't really compare. |
Re: Anyone else find Naomi Wildman annoying?
Naomi is my favorite Trek kid. I like her a lot.

^ Mine, too.

Re: Anyone else find Naomi Wildman annoying?
I have yet to see a TV show or film where the kid is not annoying. Last time I saw Terminator 2, I wanted Arnold to terminate that fucker.
The ONLY time I liked a kid in a film was Jerry Maguire. |
