Does Icheb have to Regenerate?
Okay, so I realize that he had to regenerate during the sixth season, but I recently saw the seventh season episode "Imperfection". Inwhich Seven's Cordical Implant malfuntions, and because it's broken she can't regenerate. Well to save her, Icheb gives her his implant. You can go on Memory Alpha to learn more about the episode or just watch it.
Now he's surviving without an implant, so does he need to regenerate anymore? Because it seems that it's essential for regeneration. Thanks! |

Re: Does Icheb have to Regenerate?
Icheb was much younger than Seven and had less-extensive implants. Maybe the Doctor found a way for him to sleep naturally. Or maybe he and Seven decided to rig him up a regeneration unit elsewhere to give both of them some privacy.

Is regeneration sleep?
The argument can be made that Drones are "Awake" during the regeneration process. At least their bodies remain awake while their minds go somewhere else. Where does Seven's mind go now that Unimatrix Zero has been demolished? The Borg must have had out of body work details that they should have gotten annoyed that her psyche never turned up for the swing shift while her body was regenerating... If her mind had no where to go to, because she is not Borg, and it stayed in her body, then Seven would have been awake rather than seemingly asleep while her mind was empty. Quote:
Seven could wander into Unimatrix Zero despite that her subspace radio antenna had been disabled, so really what ever tech had her mind subconsciously connected to and driving offsite/remote Borg mechanisms during regeneration was still active till at least the end of season 6 that she could have been acting as a widget or an engine fulfilling any number of Borg Agendas the whole time little orphan Annie was on board Voyager. She was only half free. |

I saw Icheb yesterday at the convention.
http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7278/7...c740301744.jpg He showed us an excerpt of everything he's done since Voyager. I missed half of it because I was tying my shoes. Anyway he didn't seem to have regenerated a whole lot to me. |

Really, the stills I saw of Manu over on IMDB floored me.
Although if you take 7 thousand snapshots in an antiseptically controlled situation, you're bound to find perhaps 3 usable shots. |

The Rugged man's man, 80s areosolized scotch aftershave print advertisement look doesn't ring your bell?
It was the change which was so startling. Speaking of the greying side of transition, have you seen Edward Furlong recently? Little Johnny Connor now looks like your local friendly nighbourhood meth dealer. |

Glad to see I am not the only one that disliked this 'Icheb'. Apart from his name being all wrong, his intelligence and high nose made him the perfect snob. Evil.
Q2 was much better. |
Re: Does Icheb have to Regenerate?
I LOVED ICHEB.
Just so you all know. I thought he was a great gawky adolescent. I might have been meh about him though if not for his tragic personal story. |
Re: Does Icheb have to Regenerate?
He's aged better than Robert Beltram- anyway make-up can do anything.
The trick where Echeb can remove his cortical node had to do with genetic sequencing. His body lost the ability to continue without implants because of the cortical node. If it was removed, then he was vibrant enough to regrow his cerebral tissue. His re-sequencing came as a result of fluids and cerebral scanning. Today he looks normal. |

I agree, "Child's Play" really sold me on the character. |
