"The Vulcan Trilogy" Line-by-Line!

Greetings!

We've recently concluded our "Balance of Terror Line-by-Line" thread over in the TOS forum.

After each completed thread, I'm randomly picking someone who participated to choose the next episode we do. The lucky winner this time around was Admiral Shran! And Admiral Shran has chosen the three-part "Vulcan trilogy" of "The Forge", "Awakening", and "Kir'Shara" as our next line-by-line adventure!

For any unfamiliar with our "game," you are asked to post only a single line (defined as one character speaking without interruption by another character) per message. You can post as often as you like, but someone else must post a line in between your posts.

As is our standard practice, we're doing these three episodes as a single thread. Our "rule" is that if the episode has a "To Be Continued..." on the end, it is done in a single thread, but if it's just an arc of related episodes, each episode is a separate thread.

As before, at the conclusion of this thread, I will pick someone at random from among all the participants to choose the next episode we do.

Enjoy!

Admiral Forrest: Admiral Maxwell Forrest's person log, I've arrived on Vulcan hopeful that the High Command is finally ready to conduct joint missions with Starfleet.

Forrest: After all we've been through, I'd rather hear the good news from you.

SOVAL: The High Command hasn't included me in their discussions.

Forrest: They're not telling their own Ambassador to Earth what they're planning? Welcome to the club.

SOVAL: Admiral, I know you find our reluctance to share technology and discoveries restrictive.

Forrest: I can think of a few stronger words than that.

Soval: We don't know what to do about humans. Of all the species we've made contact with, yours is the only one we can't define. You have the arrogance of Andorians, the stubborn pride of Tellarites. One moment, you're as driven by your emotions as Klingons, and the next, you confound us by suddenly embracing logic.

Forrest: I'm sure those qualities are found in every species.

Forrest and Soval pass through security.

Soval: Not in such confusing abundance.

FORREST: Ambassador. Are Vulcans afraid of humans? Why?

SOVAL; Because there is one species you remind us of.
