There was a parody version of Newsweeek from the 70s, by the same folks who did the immortal Not The New York Times spoof IIRC, which had a review of Pac-Man the Movie, which praised the amazing sfx but condemned the lack of exploration of why the hero was going down these endless halls and why the creatures were chasing him... :D

Great idea for a movie, except for one thing I saw in the trailer that got me; ghosts cannot be destroyed. Ghost energy is like any other energy, and so, just like Ghostbusters, the ghosts would have to be caught and contained. Unless maybe the 'ghosts' aren't really that, but are like the being made of nanites from the movie Virtuosity.
