"shut that thing off!"

Rather than another Damar or Dukat avatar I think I go for Weyoun's wonderfully paranoid reaction to Damar's rebellion:lol:...

Random theme:
"Cardassia, it's as beautiful as I remember!"

^ A BigFoot sighting!

Good to see you again, you've been missed around here! :)

How is life as a non-contest runner? ;)

Re: DS9 Avatar Contest 118
Well, I thought I'd check out this thread again... it's been a while. And I saw a few categories where I was actually able to enter my avatars, so I did. ;)

And it's good to be back, even if just for a bit. :)

Life is good, definitely less busy then it used to be. How are things around here? I hope the contest isn't taking up too much of your personal time.

Good that you did! :)

Well, you know where to find us if you feel like entering again.

I'm an unemployed teacher now and I've got a much less demanding job nowadays that I took while waiting for teaching opportunities to come by. But the recession has hit the education system hard over here so it will probably take some time until I get to work as a teacher again. Until then I'm happy with my current job. And it gives me more free time.

Re: DS9 Avatar Contest 118
Honestly, I've made so many avatars in my life that unless I either have one already ready or I have some sort of an inspirational moment I just don't feel like making them anymore. I will try to stop by every once in a while though. :)

Good to hear you're happy with your job. While I'm not perfectly happy with mine, I can't really complain. The company I work for has a bucketload of clients from a bunch of different fields so we're still doing well.

Re: DS9 Avatar Contest 118
I took a break from avatar making a while ago when I lost inspiration so I know what you mean. :)

It's good to hear the recession hasn't given you any trouble! It seems like the economy is stabilizing now so the worst has hopefully passed.

Re: DS9 Avatar Contest 118

Yes, it was a human colony Sisko attacked. So why this? Remember, the Maquis are settling on planets claimed by the Cardassians and ceded to them by treaty! AND what's the point of a DMZ if someone's setting off WMDs in it? How Sisko did NOT have this happen, I don't know. So now I'm setting it right, because as much as I normally like Sisko, the lack of fallout from this episode is one of my biggest Trek pet peeves.

(The Cardassian text is, of course, English in Cardassian characters. The top part says, "WANTED, BENJAMIN SISKO." The bottom part reveals where this poster really came says "Guilty by order of Dukat." ;) )

My favorite episode is "Ties of Blood and Water." And this avatar says it all. The quote is not mine--I found it, but it's SO perfect.

 That Cardassian "wanted" poster is fantastic!

Of course, knowing your strong objection to Sisko's actions here, I suspected I knew why you chose this episode :).
