Agreed. I don't know who you mean specifically, but yeah. They might as well not have bothered with idols this time, because nobody uses them.

Okay, the person I hope wins Survivor: Charlie.

The people I hope don't win: Q and Maria. They're both horrible people, utter hypocrites. At least Kenzie admits that she's selfish. Ben hasn't been on my radar to the point that this is literally the first night I remembered his name. And Liz? How did she ever get medical clearance? That's insane.

The Amazing Race: I hope Ricky and Cesar win. If not, the pilots winning would be okay. Amber needs counseling to get her out of the mindset that she has to please that abusive POS she thinks she's in love with.

Both the people who went home were my second choice to go home. Amazing Race I'm rooting for Ricky & Cesar first, Rod & Leticia second, but I would be happy with anyone but Team Verbal Abuse.

This episode definitely damaged my opinion of Maria but I'm still fine with her winning. Charley by far my first choice now. I don't want Q or Liz to win. Kenzie or Ben I'm not for or against but they need to dominate the last few days.

    O-kay. Mixed reactions:

    Survivor: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! :guffaw:

    Nyahh, NYAHH, NYAHHHHH!

After this season they may be wondering wtf good the idols are, if nobody uses them! This must be some record.

Oh, and Maria can fuck right off any time now. Whining about letters when she deliberately denied food to someone who really needed it, while pretending to leave it up to fate? What a nasty piece of work.

    The Amazing Race:

    Who won: :bolian:

Team Domestic Abuse-in-waiting: Amber is certifiably insane. Of course that jerk proposed in a moment where she wouldn't have felt free to say no, if she'd given it some serious thought. Not once has he ever owned up that anything could be HIS fault.

    Big Brother starts July 17!

I don't blame Maria for her reaction to the letters. What we saw was a gut emotional reaction she couldn't control, but she didn't yell or blame anyone for their decision. If she can win out immunity challenges I still think she deserves to win. At least more than Liz or Ben.

Yeah, what a dull final episode to the Amazing Race but good winner.

This was the first time in one of these shows someone proposed on the air and I was like "Good god say no!"

Her whole body language said, "I'd better say yes, or he's going to scream and lecture me all the way home".

If she were smart, when they get back to wherever, she should pack her stuff and either get home to her most trustworthy relatives or to a women's shelter. If not, she's going to become a statistic some day. He's exhibiting all the signs, and it looks like even Phil is clued in (but can't say anything since Vinny hasn't explicitly broken any game rules).

It's Maria's hypocrisy I blame. Not getting those letters was HER fault. If she had been more considerate of Liz, and had OWNED that decision, then she probably would have seen consideration in return.

But she's still been the most dominant player in the game. This is the first tribal in a while she hasn't been in charge.

I just got finished rewatching Survivor 6. When they first went from 2 person finals to 3 person finals I didn't like it, but this season is a strong argument it was the right decision. Jenna M is the first winner who just clearly did not deserve it. By modern rules Rob or Butch would have won.

I'm going to watch Pearl Islands but probably skip the first all star season. That season was just predictable and Rob clearly deserved to win there and the winner only won because the best player was attracted enough to her to carry her along.

Q finally going home would've been more satisfying if he and Maria hadn't torpedoed Charlie's chances of scoring a perfect game.

I had been in the midst of watching Survivor Africa, but ended up shifting gears to start a rewatch of Edge of Extinction instead after making a comment about it on the Survivor subreddit, and even after only two episodes, it's still just as good as I remembered it being (the cast of newbie players is great, the twist on the 'Captains season' format - and the choice of returnees to fill said 'Captain' roles - really works, and the introduction of the titular Edge of Extinction is one of my favorite new game mechanics).

I wasn’t a big fan of edge of extinction just because it led to one of the least deserving winners ever. Gets voted out third, gets to come back at 6 with an idol, wins?! Any “ Come back in the game” twists should end at the merge.

I'm sorry, but winning by taking advantage of/benefiting from the thematic twist of a season cannot, by definition and design, delegtimize said victory.

If you're going to delegitimize Chris Underwood's victory based solely on the fact that he won after spending most of the game on the Edge of Extinction, you have to also delegtimize Chris Daugherty, Parvati Shallow, Boston Rob, Sophie Clarke, and Kim Spradlin's victories because they also won by taking advantage of/benefiting from thematic gameplay elements used in their respective winning seasons.

Yes, skipping the hard part of the game weakens your victory. It just does. If he didn’t get to come back in with advantages it’d be one thing. He played a bad game then won on easy mode. Thankfully Natalie didn’t win on the same cheat.

Jenna M, Amber, Fabio, Natalie (Russell season), Chris. These are the least deserving Survivor winners, period.

Although, he 100% deserved his Challenge victory. That is unimpeachable, he just plain won.

I don’t see how you can compare benefiting from a twist to getting to skip 2/3 of the game then come back in at 6 with an idol with a straight face.

Getting to skip 2/3 of the game and come back at 6 with an Idol was the twist.

You can dislike it, but the fact that he benefited from it doesn't actually delegitimize his win any more than the Men vs Women, Fans vs Favorites, and Team Captain twists delegitimize Chris D, Parvati, Boston Rob, and Kim's wins.

He won on lottery, not based on skill. He was voted out third for a reason. He straight out did not deserve to win. He got a huge unfair advantage strictly based on a twist. Thankfully Natalie didn’t get the same unfair victory. Other twists may have benefitted people but didn’t let them just skip ten votes and the entire hard part of the game. It was a bad twist that produced undeserving victors, period.

I’m pretty happy with this season’s victor. Not my first choice but a deserving victor.

Hm. Yeah, not my first choice. Better than most, though. And Liz is delusional. There is no way she'd have won.

Remember the reaction of the jury when everyone was treating Liz like she was the biggest jury threat? They were as confused as we were. And then all of them were openly rooting against her in fire.

They were probably just trying to avoid triggering another of her colossal meltdowns. If she'd been one of the final 3, she wouldn't have received any votes, either.
