Creative Writing, Poetry, Arts & Crafts, and Other Creations Thread

Camp NaNoWriMo is still going forward in spite of the massive other problems with that organization. They've shut down the forum there, leaving thousands of people scrambling for alternate ways to get information, feedback, share ideas, discuss writing of original fic, fanfic, etc.

However, the event itself is still going on, I decided to give them one last chance (there were technical issues with the main dashboard last November), and so far so good in that respect. I'm over 3/4 finished and should be done well before the deadline of 11:59 PM April 30.

I've joined a new writing forum with a couple of monthly competitions (nothing as ambitious as NaNo, but still challenging), and some interesting exercises in which I found that yes, you can write a sentence of over 50 words and have it come out both interesting, readable, and grammatically correct.

Well, that's Camp NaNoWriMo accomplished for another session. I've met and exceeded my word count goal (not by much, admittedly, but I'll take it).

There are still several days left in the month, though, so I'm going to continue, to see how much farther I can do.

I must say it's an underwhelming experience, with the website mostly not running. There aren't any new winners' badges or banners this time, and I know I've validated within the time when those would be normally be available.
