"Undercurrents" - After the Enterprise rendezvous' with the USS Farragut to pick up a prominent envoy, it becomes awkward when the diplomat, a Betazoid, goes out of his way to antagonize the crew. Before Picard, Riker and Troi can stand up to the envoy, the envoy is assaulted by Worf. Meanwhile, when Geordi and Data are temporarily assigned to the USS Galaxy to oversee an experiment involving a radical and alternative technology utilizing protomatter on the edge of Talarian space, they run into Dr. Brahms, who is friends with the Bolian captain. It soon becomes apparent that the Bolian captain does not get on with Data, and seems to have a negative history with Dr. Noonien Soong and Juliana Tainer. And Brahms does not seem interested in reining him in, despite Geordi’s urging.

    “Between par'Mach and a Bulkhead”

A Klingon war criminal has been sprung by the Klingon woman who loves him. The two are suspected of escaping to a neutral sector where two local species are waging war. Jean-Luc has been ordered to keep an eye out for the pair among the refugees that the Federation is helping to evacuate. The ship is filled to maximum capacity and conflicts are breaking out between the passengers and the crew and their families, as not everyone among the crew or their families appreciates having to share space with the refugees. Worf already has his eye on a childless couple who don't socialize with anyone. They turn out to be seeking asylum, but they are from the opposite side from the rest of the refuges. Will Picard deny them passage and return them back to the aggressors? Meanwhile, some of the crew are making friends with some refugees, and unbeknownst to them the wanted Klingons are among them, having been surgically altered; no one suspects this, not even the other refugees. Will the wanted Klingons escape notice? And what were the crimes that sent the male Klingon to prison in the first place? It turns out it was nothing more than refusing to fire upon innocent noncombatants.

"Warp One"- The Enterprise encounters an unmanned probe launched by Dr. Cochrane testing warp drive, imaginatively named Warp-1. While bringing the probe back to Earth to go in a museum, odd things happen in the cargo bay where it's being stored. Data and LaForge investigate, and discover the probe quantum dates to three days ago. Moreover, the primitive technology in it is actually primitive Cardassian technology, not Earth's. It turns out this is actually Gok'Dan, the first Cardassian warp probe, which the Obsidian Order had rediscovered and reskinned as Warp-1 to use as a spying device on the Federation. Picard is upset a culture would vandalize their own artifacts in the interest of spying on others, so he restores it to its original configuration and places it back into space.

"For The World Is Holo..." - Barclay, recovering from his holodeck addiction, is repairing a console in main engineering with Geordi when it begins to spark and catch fire. Upset, he cries out "end program!"....and it does, which may be more terrifying than the fire itself, because he could have sworn it was real (Geordi was a hologram) He then leaves the holodeck, shaken, and continues to have layer upon layer of ended programs, causing him to continually doubt his reality. The situation becomes even more complicated when Enterprise is badly damaged by a sudden shockwave and he is scared to work. He may be the only one who can rescue the crew from a badly damaged bridge before it blows out into space. When he does so, a badly "injured" Deanna says "computer, end program". It turns out that this is a simulation, complete with holo-Barclay designed to show the real Barclay that he can overcome his problems and give him hope of recovery - with a realistic hero scenario rather than an over the top one.

"Reflex" - When Data abruptly takes over tactical from Worf and opens fire on a primitive space station during a first contact, resulting in the loss of all hands, Picard has Data immediately relived from duty as Data has no answer for his actions. When Riker, Beverly, Guinan and Sonya Gomez also perform abrupt actions across the ship that harm others onboard the ship, Picard suspects that there is something or someone forcing the crew to engage in involuntary actions. When an extra-dimensional being that inhabits the same space as Nagilum makes her presence known, Picard must negotiate a withdrawal before she destroys the Enterprise at will.

When Troi is taken in by a charismatic telepathy guru, who promises her that he can help her develop her skills beyond her mere empathic abilities, he turns out to be so powerful that it traps her in such an immense dream state, that it envelops the entire crew, who become trapped in it with her. Only Data & Guinan seem immune, and have to work together to stop him from achieving his nefarious plans.

Worf receives a package from Kahlest upon her death, and he comes across a series of letter that his father, then only 18, used to write back and forth with a young Klingon woman who was a Romulan sympathizer, before he met Worf's mother.

Meawhile, the Enterprise encounters an El-Aurian who claims that Guinan's mother was the one who revealed the whereabouts of the El-Aurian homeworld to the Borg.

"The Bonfire of the Vanities" - When Clare Raymond, Ralph Offenhouse and L.Q. “Sonny” Clemonds return to the Enterprise, they are asked to be special envoys to a world that resembles late 20th century Earth, including its cryogenic space modules in orbit. The obvious difference is that this world has already achieved warp drive capabilities. When an unusually large Ferengi fleet arrives and want to establish a trade outpost on the planet as part of a major trade route in the sector, the crew of the Enterprise must rely on the three 20th century humans to rebuff the attempt.

The episode is told solely from the perspective of the three 20th century humans.

“Azrael” - While beaming onto a planet to investigate the disappearance of several people at a colony, an Enterprise away team are intercepted and beamed into a different location that the individual responsible, Ciur, claims is the afterlife. Though it seems like a paradise - everything is beautiful and people's needs are met, anyone who does something that is "forbidden" is "banished" (i.e. turned into mindless creatures incapable of intelligent thought)- and it wouldn't be long until everyone does something worthy of banishment, at least by Ciur's standards. Meanwhile, Enterprise's remaining crew try to figure out where their people have vanished to.

"Legal Tender" - A conman has been traveling across the galaxy, and has been purchasing goods with counterfeit money that is holographic – the money dissipates as soon as he’s out of range, leaving the buyer without the money they thought they had received. When the conman comes on board the Enterprise, its up to Troi, Worf and Geordi to reveal the schemes the conman employs.

Meanwhile, Data inquires to the crew about a stop the Enterprise had made to an alien world a couple of weeks earlier, and questions what quantifies as legal tender among several spacefaring civilizations. As one of the subcultures on the planet were known to barter with their bodies instead of any actual currency, and another subculture were known to barter with theatrical performances, leaving Data very confused.

“Foxholes” - While Barclay participates in a battlefield training exercise, the holodeck safeties malfunction and he is nearly killed, experiencing a vision while his life hangs in the balance. He decides to quit Starfleet and join a group of mystics who are visiting the Enterprise-D in search of enlightenment. Knowing that's not like him, Deanna and Geordi question his decision, but he will not be swayed. It turns out the vision was a hypnotic suggestion planted by the mystics, augmented by further conditioning. Another one of the mystics, whose daughter has taken a shine to Reg, wishes to kill him so he can keep her under his thumb.

    Carte Blanche

While on 2 weeks of dispatched leave, The Enterprise visits Earth, where Picard's young nephew Rene comes aboard to enjoy his 1st visit to a Staship, wherein his uncle offers to take him anywhere the ship can reach and be back before their leave is over. The boy chooses the "Merged Moons of Andor" which has such unique gravitational properties, it has been outfitted with a grand amusement park. In a B plot, Data remains on Earth where he & Geordi contact a lost sibling of Dr. Soong's, who may have some of Noonien's earliest research available to be studied... at a price. He's currently dying of old age, and is desperate to acquire Soong's synaptic scanning research, in the hopes it'll be a means to escape his impending death, and is crestfallen to find it only serves as a means to render a copy of himself.

"The Last of Him" - Beverly welcomes an old friend from her bereavement support group after Enterprise-D locates some of the friend's husband's belongings in a storage area. She confesses her suspicions to Troi that her friend may not be as over her husband's death as she appeared - she seems more interested in attempting to retrieve and rebuild his corrupted DNA from fragments on the objects to re-make him, speaking to the dead man as she works, like he's in the room. Enterprise-D is marking the anniversary of the incident that caused the man's death with the species whose planet it happened on present. The woman is unstable and is planning a revenge attack, with her husband present to take his own vengeance - however, her technique is not working nearly as well as she thinks, and the DNA is too corrupted and unstable - she has essentially nothing. Data is sent in, wearing her husband's face as a mask, and using his voice recordings to re-create his voice, to talk her down - the real man wouldn't have wanted this. Beverly and her have a final funeral after he does so - to put "the last of him" to rest.

"Flawed Premises" - The Enterprise encounters a world where flawed premises are an integral part of their culture. Despite initially enthusiastic about coming into contact with the planet, the crew eventually finds it taxing to continue to point out that their premises are wrong. However, these aliens also end up preventing a lethal disaster in engineering when LeForge and Data realize a proposed upgrade from Starfleet Command will not work as intended for the Enterprise.

“November Rain” - Picard becomes interested in a woman who pretends to like him so that she can get close enough to avenge the crew of a survey ship (among them, her parents) that Picard was forced to disavow in order to prevent a conflict from heating up, leading to the crew's deaths. Meanwhile, engineering is overwhelmed when the ship's climate controls malfunction, particularly causing problems for those with special issues (needing water, blends of alien air to breathe, etc), which Geordi and Data struggle to manage.

^which one? The title I proposed? As for my one, no. I don't think all TNG episodes had B-stories. I think Parallels would be an example of an ep with only an A-story (unless you perhaps include the Worf/Troy relationship but I think that's stretching it since it's simply part of the A-plot itself).

The episode you wrote from my title. It can't be just her bugging him, something else has to be happening shipboard, right?

In that case, let's say that Geordi has made a main engineering breakthrough, which he's been asked to present on a major conference, giving him the jitters when he's preparing his presentation. He's confident enough in his own engine room, and to present his ideas to his own crewmates, but presenting them in a huge hall in which many of the most accomplished minds in the Federation will be listening to what he has to tell is a different matter ... so he seeks advice from Guinan.
