How 'Tuvix' should have ended

You know, if they made Tuvix evil and go mind invading everyone nobody would have complained about killing Tuvix
They wanted the character to be positive though, embodying the best qualities of both Tuvok and Neelix. That way, when Janeway essentially executes him to bring her friends back, it generates a lot of mixed emotions and discussions.

Or how about 'Neelok', simply combining the worst of both characters? Annoyingly logical and not enjoying any social occasions, a lousy cook, interfering with everyone's private lives even if they don't ask for it, jealous, etc ...

If they had kept Tuvix and gotten rid of Tuvok, as much as I like him, and Neelix I wouldn't have been too upset. The guest actor, Tom Wright, did a really good job making us care so much about the character in such a short period of time.

...I wish the first simulation in "Living Witness" had featured Tuvix.

...and I -really- wish that when spouting off the litany of issues with the simulation that The Doctor had paused for a moment when considering Tuvix.

OO! Author Author and Fury too!

Old Kes says "Tuvix, I was a complete B^tch. I wanted to bang Neelix, and I wanted to bang Tuvok. I'm sorry, I should have seen you as a bronze medal, but I was being petty. Janeway is going to kill you in 15 minutes, so you can either go to town on me, until Security drags you off my naked body, or you can run for life."

It would have been cool if "Shattered" had featured Tuvix, like it did Seska.

I was going to post my incomplete story hosted in the fan-fiction forum from 2021 where exactly that happened, when I noticed that you "liked" the third chapter of Tales from the Shattered Voyager. :D

You're not the only one to write a "Tuvix lives" scenario... I've done a couple.

BUT THIS IS HOW IT REALLY SHOULD HAVE ENDED

EHM: I'm sorry, Captain, but I cannot perform the surgical separation. I am a physician, and a physician must do no harm. I will not take Mister Tuvix's life against his will
Janeway: Very well, Doctor. Please step aside. I assume this is the radioisotope. Locking surgical targeting scanners onto the isotope probe. Initiating...
EHM: Actually, Captain... perhaps there is another solution

(At the Super Cafe)

Janeway: ...so we transferred the synaptic patterns of Tuvix into the holobuffer, and created a holographic body for him. Then we split the physical Tuvix back into Tuvok and Neelix, and now we have the three of them.
Batman: Hi, babe. Wanna know... my secret identity?
Janeway, Oh, shut up. In any case, it wasn't even such a big deal, we did a similar thing for Danara Pel a few days before this. He will be confined to the holodeck, of course, but he has no rank anyway, and that would be like living on permanent vacations.
Superman: Yes, you did, but... didn't her mind degrade in a week if stored that way?
Janeway: Of course not, we told her that so that she accepted going back to her body, despite the phage. Why do you think the Doctor's mind does not degrade?
Superman: And Tuvix living permanently on the holodeck... won't that be a problem for the people who want to use it?
---------------
Chaotika: HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! At long last, Captain Proton lies helpless, with his destiny on my hands! Now, finally, I shall...
Tuvix: Oh, hi Mr. Paris. Want to sing a song?
-----------------
Janway: They will be fine.
Tuvok: That's an interesting... uniform... you are wearing, sir.
Batman: This? This is not a uniform. This is my bat suit. Because I'm Batman.
Tuvok: And why would you dress like a bat?
Batman: To strike fear in the hearts of my enemies. Duh.
Tuvok: Bats are not scary. They are tiny Chiroptera mammals. To fear bats is illogical.
Superman: And wouldn't it be a problem to abuse of the holographic tech this way? What stops you from having copies of yourselves at every ship?
Janeway: You mean, someone like the Doctor but modeled after me rather than Zimmerman? Hey, I had never thought about that...

For what it's worth, in the comic book "Sons of Star Trek" Jake Sisko, Nog and Alexander are displaced by Q Junior into a time loop in a weird alternate dimension, and one of the local crewmembers is Tuvix, who does a mind meld with Alexander. The captain is Gul Dukat, and another one (who has not said anything so far, but she's on the cover for the next issue) seems suspiciously similar to Beckett Mariner.

I didn't have an issue with Janeway's actions with Tuvix. I would have loved if neelix had actually died & Tuvok was the only one to survive.

How it could have ended:

Suddenly, before trying to separate the two, a swirly-thing alert comes on and a glowing space vagina opens up and out pops Kirk, having used the Nexus to save himself at the last second. He's beamed aboard, told he'll have to wait while they use the transporter to separate two crew members. He immediately assumes command of the ship, takes over the transporter console, and fiddles with it until Tuvix is a screaming blob and the signal is lost.

Kirk: "Oh, shit -- I did it again."
