^ I think he means if/when DC gets around to doing the sequel. Not here...but I could be wrong.

So, the last issue came out today. Impressions? Was it worth all of the controversy? Did it enhance the original for you? What was the best series of the bunch?

From what I've read and heard about it, I think that Minutemen is the only one I really want to pick up in trade.

However, I think I would like one thing spoiled for me. I just read this at Bleeding Cool...
So, what's up with Manhatten post-Watchmen? Is there any clue as to if Veight's plan succeeded in the long run? Do wee see what Earth is like post-space squid?

I stopped wasting my money on these ages ago. Dr Manhattan actually turned out well?

No it didn't. There's still a handful of issues to come out before it's done. Rorschach has at least two left, Comedian has one, Ozy has one. Then after that their will be an epilogue issue that will tie everything together (or something). Then it will be over.

Nothing of the sort, we just see a very blunt follow-on where he goes to another planet where he creates life (in a very simple form which he releases into a lake).

I think the Epilogue issue has been quietly canceled. It's not mentioned in the solicitation copy for any of the Before Watchmen hardcovers.

The Nite Owl volume collects Nite Owl, Dr. Manhattan, and Moloch.

The Comedian volume collects Comedian and Rorschach.

The Minutemen volume collects Minutemen and Silk Spectre.

The Ozymandias volume collects Ozy, Dollar Bill, and the "Crimson Corsair" back-ups.

Plus, DC hasn't solicited the epilogue comic yet. If it were coming out in a month, once the other series finish, they would have solicited it months ago.

No, it really looks to me like there won't be a Before Watchmen Epilogue.

    Would a post-Before Watchmen be...Watchmen...?

Interesting. Cancellation was not something I expected...that'd explain why we've not heard anything about it or seen it in solicits.

Sorry to dig this thread back up but I thought it'd be easier than starting a new one.

I was interested in getting these when they first came out but I figured I'd prefer to wait till they were collected and read them in one go. Then they only came out in Hardcovers and I prefer Paperbacks for comics tbh.

So now finally they are out in paperback, and I've just ordered the set of 4 from Amazon. So my question is- is there a reading order, or a preferred one, to all the stories? ie do they interconnect or can I just read any of them and follow it.
    Thanks

Please let me (and others who did not follow this when it came out) know whether it's actually any good or not :) Thanks

I pride myself in recent history for ignoring spoilers and meeting new movies fresh.

As this is the first I have heard of this project...

    NO!

    NO!

    Bad Hollywood! Bad!

I was under the impression it's a comic book, NOT a movie.

    I was still avoiding spoilers.

    Posting blind.

    Not a movie?

    Not a movie.

    Sorry Hollywood.

Not that sorry, because you've obviously done something awful recently, but sorry a little bit never the less.

They could have set it before Watchmen, but after Before Watchmen. But from the descriptions I guess they set it after Before Watchmen and after Watchmen. Although if some of Before Watchmen was after Watchmen, doesn't that mean the name is wrong? They should have thought of that before Before Watchmen came out. Maybe it should have been called Before and After Watchmen.

    :vulcan:

    :wtf:

    >pop!<

Oh gawd, I'm getting flashbacks to Janeway and the salamanders.

They're all self-contained stories, so no. There is no reading order you need to adhere to.

There's no real order as @Aldo above. The best IMO were "Minutemen", "Silk Spectre", and "Ozymandias" (the latter surprising me with how good it was). JMS' "Doctor Manhattan" wasn't bad either.
