I'll be rooting for Chile tonight. Specially since they're fielding two Juventini (Vidal and Isla). It's going to be a tough game and I hope Vidal is approaching full match fitness now. He's had a very good season for Juve, one of our most important players. But having knee surgery a month before the WC is bound to hurt you. His game is very physical so he needs to be fit.
I work in international logistics and am responsible for North and South America. The emails today with my Brazilian contacts were quite entertaining (half of the email was business, the other about the world cup). I was reminded how Oliver Kahn claimed that Manuel Neuer (Germany's goalie) was the best of the world.. may be but then i saw Ochoa (though some of his saves were just lucky but some were just brilliant). Tonight it's Croatia - Cameroon. Go Sahovnica!!
What a tease! Now that you started that, would you please tell us what the Brazilians had to say (did they make excuses, did they express hope or disappointment etc.). Bob
They took it quite well.. no real doomsaying but they realize that there are better teams competing in the tournament and that Brazil has to shape up to keep up. Most saw Germany and Holland as the favorites now to which i agree (if the german team doesn't lose its nerves somewhere in the later parts of the knockout rounds as they did the last 10 years or so).
Wow, that was lightning fast from 0-0 to 1-1 between the Netherlands and Australia!! You missed both goals, if you went to get a beer at the wrong time
Indeed it is. And the Dutch don´t light any fireworks, as they did against Spain. That´s the point of the World Cup
I really don't think Holland is all that good. They have a great offense but their defense looked weak against a very lazy Spain. Watching the game versus Australia kinda reinforces that.
Austarlia seem to be doing better against the Netherlands than Spain. At this point, Spain must be really embarrassed. Edit: Watching Spain-Chile game. If Spain keeps this up, they will be out.
