The picture was already posted up at the top of the page. So far this looks good, hopefully the rest of the suit will be of the same quality.

Set pictures have made their way online. There's also a short video of them filming a stunt at the bottom of the page.

Sorry if this has been noted already, but - whoa, John Wesley Shipp is involved in a "mystery role"..? Strange way of passing the torch, as it were. I really dug the 90s series, and hated that it ended on a cliffhanger. Perhaps Shipp will play a Jay Garrick..?

EDIT - Found all the existing discussion, whoops. Still, as a fan of the previous series, I"m glad to see he's been added! Obviously someone on the production team was a fan - or at least knows how to whet the fans' appetites.

^Yep. I'm glad he's on board too. Now they just need to get Amanda Pays and Alex Desert!

Not bad. I would have preferred a smoother look without the added texture, but overall I like it. Maybe the added texture is supposed to serve the same purpose as dimples on a golf ball.

My biggest concern is his coefficient of friction, coming both from all the texture and flashy fashion lines (see what I did there?) and from the fact that it's evidently not wholly skin-right. Other than that, it looks fine to me, even if it does kinda look like a stylized scuba suit.

Oo, ah. Good idea. So, you're suggesting that the texture might help him control his movements at super-speed better.

As long as it doesn't get too hot!

I really like it as well. It looks sleek and dramatic, and the color is perfect.

I don't know if this is in their plans, but I really hope this is the same Flash we see in the upcoming Justice League movie. Seems like it would be a waste not to use the same one (and the same with Arrow for that matter, even though I don't watch the show).

It's difficult to tell with that stance, but it looks good to me.

Actually that's just what I think the texture is for -- it looks to me like a porous, "breathable" fabric that provides some ventilation and lets sweat evaporate. I believe that's not uncommon in athletic gear these days.

I like the design. It looks very practical, with the porous fabric and the accordion-ish effect on the knees for flexibility (seems like there might be something similar on the elbows too). It's not as much of a fantasy, looks-over-realism design as the one in the '90 series (which wasn't so much a costume as a full-body makeup prosthetic that took hours to apply), and more an actual, functional piece of athletic gear, or at least a reasonably convincing facsimile of one.

A bit hard to tell, but I'm guessing he doesn't have the lightning bolt-style belt of the comics.

Far be it to nitpick the suit on the grounds that it isn't perfectly realistic, but just for the sake of discussion I have to wonder whether the whole suit would have to be porous or otherwise certain parts of his body would be way hotter than others.

Part of what blood circulation is for is to redistribute heat around the body. As long as the body as a whole has sufficient cooling, it doesn't need to be completely uniform.

I'm liking it too. Wonder how, or if, the suit will evolve as the showmakers refine it as the show goes on. Also, good call on putting bolts on the helmet instead of the wings - dodged a bullet by not doing that IMO, while still evoking that feel.

Given that these days they're NOT trying to do form-fitting leotards, this is a good look for sure. For comparison, the last time around, the Flash looked like this:

I'd rank that Flash costume as one of the best live-action comics, even with the better on-screen versions we've seen lately. It's pretty impressive considering it's 20 years later.

Can't see any image in Mark_Nguyen's post.

As for the new costume for the show, it looks good. Wish we could see the boots better. Are those laces? If so, that would look odd/not good.

As long as blood circulation is rapid enough, sure.

At this point, I'm probably overanalyzing things, so I'll stop.
