DS9, I would have bought over Ro Laren from TNG instead of having Kira. nothing against Nana Visitor but I think the Laren character was more interesting

Voyager, I would have killed off Neelix at the end of S3 and evolved the Kes Character, i think she had a lot to give.

TOS: Would have made Uhura a more prominent role in many episodes.
TNG: Would have killed off Picard at the end of "Best of Both Worlds, part II."
DS9: Ended the Dominion War prior to the finale.
VOY: Wouldn't have stuck the ship in the Delta Quadrant.
ENT: Sorry, I can't just make ONE change here.

TOS: No "Amok Time". Dumb dumb dumb dumb Vulcan mating rituals.

TNG: Can't think of just one thing. First though, would be to cut the smug "we're so much better than everyone else" BS. What kind of pricks need to keep telling themselves that?

DS9: Some colour would be nice. Everything was a shade of dark red, brown or grey. Visually dull as ditchwater.

    VOY: No meaningless technobabble solutions.

ENT: Begin with the energy, urgency and character development we got in S3.

TNG: I'd had let the Rubicuneans kill Wesley. Bam. Just like that. Man, that would have been refreshing.

DS9: Make Dax a human. The symbiont thing and all plots about it were total bullshit. Also Brooks never sold Sisko calling her Old Man -- and Bashir's puppy love thing, eew. She's what, 300?

VOY: isn't Janeway obsessed with taking her crew to the Alpha Quadrant? so why all those episodes where she stops for research and first contacts and help poor alien cultures? Out with those.

    ENT: It'd never be made.

TOS- Add more Federation Starship types- with 12 Connies they should be distributed over a larger area instead of always showing up when you needed to show another ship.

TNG- Use the Main Shuttlebay, it is the most interesting part of the ship and only once did you get a glimpse just inside the door in 'Cause and Effect'.

DS9- I agree ending the Dominion War earlier and explore how the different parties cope with what happens afterward.

STV- Show the ship (and interior) being damaged from show events and being repaired with either alien tech or jury-rigged repairs.

ENT- Eliminate the whole Temporal War arc and show them exploring new worlds instead.

Made Xindi Arc only about six episodes, and there wouldn't have been any future Enterprises or cowboy side stories, the one with the cloned Trip would have been later and separate.

There would have been an ongoing tension between Starfleet personnel and the Marquis crew people, not open fighting, but never "friends."

In addition to being Captain, Picard also would have been a rich playboy from old French nobility, and he wouldn't have let anyone forget it either.

    :)

    TOS: SEASON 4!

TNG: Let Picard and Crusher do it.

DS9: Make Rom the "Sacrifice of Angels."

VOY: Drop the "Native American" part of Chakotay's heritage.

ENT: Introduce more NX class ships earlier.

(Disclaimer: This post is brought to you by the power of hindsight.)

TOS: More screentime for Scotty, Chekov, Sulu, and Uhura
TNG: No slight to Worf, but I feel like if Yar stayed aboard just a bit longer, the writers would know what to do with her character. Then again, Worf's history might be drastically changed
DS9: The brewing plot of the Dominion right from the get-go
VOY: Tighter continuity to show consequences to the ship and crew. You can't be an underdog if you have the power of plot and reset buttons on your side (also, she really could have been Star Trek's actual "struggle bus")
ENT: No TNG-lite technology. I liked that the crew had to really use their wits to compensate for their tech shortcomings, but soon and not very smoothly, the tech simply became Trek tech with different names. Phase cannons? Photonic torpedoes? Polarized hull plating is a shield with more words. It's pretty sad on Starfleet's part if their idea of weapons innovation between ENT and TOS is simply to increase the firepower. At the very least, show the development of that tech, rather than "Starfleet just happened to invent this yesterday!"

TOS: A bit more screentime for the supporting characters and maybe one episode each where they were prominant.

TAS: Save for more episodes I'd have been happy with not revisiting most previously established elements. No "Mudd's Passion," no "More Tribbles More Troubles" and no "Once Upon A Planet."

TNG: Quite a few little things I'd change, but the one singular thing would be never having the Counselor. Total waste of time.

DS9. End the Dominion war a lot sooner then follow the repercussions.

VOY: Too much needs to be changed.

ENT: Rethink the whole thing from scratch. This is the seres that upset me the most because there was so much possibility that was literally ignored.

TOS: I would have never come back for a third season. We needed 79 episodes for syndication, I get it. But the episodes in the third season are truly bad.

TNG: I never would've made them a "family." Comradery, sure, but keep it professional. I think they forgot they were doing a job in the last 2 seasons and it ruined the show.

DS9: I would've spent a year making peace with the Dominion. I don't care if that happens in the 7th or 8th seasons, I would've tested the rhetoric at the beginning of the show with showing the slow, methodical work of trying to make peace with an enemy. There was a lot of untapped potential.

VOY: I wouldn't have "stranded" them in the Delta Quadrant. With the Borg and the Dominion breathing down our necks, I would've made Voyager a celebration of manned space travel as we know it would be today. We have an engine to get us out there, not to get us back. We have to grow our own food, conserve our own energy, and other mundane things that would mirror what it looks like trying to leave our solar system. I would've made it a celebration of our adventurous and exploration spirit. Lewis and Clark in Space. No conflict (because it never went anywhere) between the Maquis and the Federation officers. And I would've invested time in making the show original and try to say something. How more interesting would the characters be if they had chosen to leave behind their lives for the sake of exploration? No communication with Starfleet, no map of what we would find, just pure exploration.

ENT: I wouldn't have started the show with the launch of the ship. That has been done in TNG, DS9, VOY, and this show. I would've started the show 2 years before the ship is to be built. The first season would've had smaller missions with our main characters that will eventually end up on the NX-01. I would've toiled with the engine, with the Vulcans, so there is some emotional investment in the show by the end of season 2 when they launch the thing. If you want characters that are more relatable, put them on Earth. Put them on Jupiter, create the new 22nd Earth. We bond with our crew (possibly have guest-star rivals) as they are picked for the mission and mourn for the ones that aren't picked. And each mission is then earned and appreciated.

Just my thoughts, although the DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise series tweaks, I really wish they would've done.

TOS: Keep the Enterprise an Earth ship engaged in deep-space exploration.

TNG: The overall, overbearing pomposity has to go.

ENT: Cancel the show and give me Linda Park in a modern remake of Honey West. Preferably set in Hawaii. :D

TOS: Keep the original command team from "The Cage" (ie Pike and Number One).
TNG: Keep Tasha as Security Chief/Tactical Officer.
DS9: Have Jadzia and Julian be the ones who get married.
    VOY: No Seven.
ENT: Hire a new creative team from the word "go".

    TOS: Ensure episodes make sense
TNG: I'd say no Crosby, but Yar's death is famous. So, have a running subplot between Beverley and Picard which results in them getting together.
DS9: Terry Farrell leaving. I'd stop that happening, she was far too fun as Jadzia.
VOY: No Lien. Perhaps give the tv time to the others and try and get Jeri Ryan in ASAP.
ENT: Start it how it ended [Seasons 3&4]. Star Trek in the title, no meaningless action, no silly over sexualization, better plots...

As much as I would have loved seeing more of Ro Laren, I can't imagine DS9 without Kira! I'd rather see them both (though I have no idea how that would have worked out).

TNG: Would have changed the first and second seasons to be less flat. Seasons 3-7 were great though. Also Data should have found a mate or something. He was "fully functional". Oh a third thing...I wouldn't have done the weird stuff with Wesley at the end. Wtf.
DS9: Ugh...more than 1. No Jadzia death! Pair Jadzia with Bashir. Would have had a happier ending with Sisko not leaving indefinitely as a part-prophet. Also I would have had Kira and Odo stay together! :(
VOY: Would NOT NOT NOT have paired Seven with Chakotay. Janeway/Chakotay all the way.
ENT: More seasons. Change 1-2 to be more awesome like 3-4 were.

How would that have worked out? Lots of fights, Ro Laren going back to prison.

I think it would've been a mistake. Kira is perhaps my favorite character on that show.

TOS: Female Captains. Number One could have been a great character.

    TNG: No more "evolved" sensibilities.

    DS9: No Jake.

VOY: Much harder, darker, more struggle and conflict. That includes cumulative damage to ship, rationing, Spartan living, etc.

ENT: Reboot from scratch without Braga and Berman.

Like the TOS idea very much, however, you colored the rest of my day with Honey West...

    ...MAKE IT SO! :techman:
