It looks like a typical case of a decoder using the wrong colorimetry. Rec. 601 and Rec. 709 are frequently mixed up causing just a difference like in those comparison screenshot. DVD and Blu-Ray both support both, afaIk. Without analyzing the video stream, it's hard to tell which one is right, though.

It's not hard to tell which one is right - playing the show back through a standard Blu-ray player, it looks exactly the same as in our screenshots. What's more, our screenshots also conform to how the show looks at CBS Digital, where they're doing the actual color correction!

So, no yellow tinge folks. Panic over.

I guess we're not going to see a price drop for the S5 set on amazon. It's still $78 and the set comes out tomorrow. I payed in the 50s for all the other sets I wonder why this one is more expensive. Granted, we still have another day, but usually the price drops on the Sunday before release day. I'm getting a little concerned that's not going to happen this time.

Looks like Best Buy is the best option. Their Sunday newspaper ad has it at $57.99 (Uinfication is $14.99), even though their website has the main set at the seventy-something price. I plan on getting there at opening tomorrow.

Amazon's website should post a price drop tomorrow. It almost always drops on the release date.

It hasn't dropped for me yet, but I do get the pre-order guarantee so it should adjust eventually. I'm just glad I know there is a price drop.

Mine already shipped right before the price drop, but as said there's the guarantee by Amazon so I should eventually get that difference pretty soon. Given how close that came, I was almost convinced they weren't gonna drop it this time. Looking forward to watching it tomorrow!

Does anyone know if they fixed the error with Beverly's rank in Conundrum??

Pretty sure they fixed it, when I watched it the other day it didn't stand out to me as being wrong. I'll go back and check it shortly.

    EDIT: Nope, still wrong :-/
I wonder if that display was done on the set (rather than composited in), as the display looks identical to the SD version (poor VGA quality headshots and all), so since CBS-D didn't recreate it, the error slipped by unnoticed?

I have all the Trek series and movies on DVD. And I rebought all the movies on Blu ray, and am collecting TOS and TNG on Blu. Don't know if I need to re buy ENT again. The standard DVDs already look good as they are.

Picked up season 5 on blu ray today. Look forward to cracking this one open and watching some eps tonight.

There isn't much point picking up the Unification standalone disc. As both parts are already on the box set.

Mine shipped yesterday too before the price drop. As I recall they are pretty good at adjusting the price.

I ordered mine (S5 + Unification) from Amazon today, so I'm expecting it sometime next week. I've still got 2.5 discs left from S4 (along with half of S1 and all of S2 of ENT) to catch up on, so I'm in no rush to get it, but I'm looking forward to it nonetheless.

After getting my TOS complete series ser and discovering it was just the three individual season shrinkwrappped together I went ahead and bought the available TNg and ENT seasons. I was iffy on rebuying ENT but I went for it. Hopefully the quality will blow me away. With a HD tv and blu ray player I can tell the difference over dvd quality usually.

    Both sets just arrived today.

The one for Unification is nicely done. The front cover flips open to show Picard, Sela, Sarek and Spock.

CBS-D is apparently very proud of their new CGI model. They use it as the background image twice - on the slipcase and inside the disc cover.

Between these and The World's End, I'll be busy for a while.

Picked mine up at Target this morning when they opened.

It was $ 69.99 (not 79 as i heard it would be) ten bucks more...no biggie
plus it was covered on a gift card. They didn't have the free $ 10 gift card
    option mentioned in another post.

They had 9 total copies EACH this time around, for both Season 5 and the Unification set.

Twice what they've had in the past on release day.
