I know this issue has already been addressed but I wanted to ask if there are any news. Everybody knows the mess that Paramount / Bad Robot did with the Into Darkness bonus materials.

Now the retailer exclusive contents have surfaced on YouTube (BestBuy http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9atKvjNjsTQsbn5eEpWGag, Target http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3ZK2oodTxYhXaMz6N2Zm1g/search?query=stid) and on Daily Motion (BestBuy http://www.dailymotion.com/KUInternational), but to me the most interesting extra contents have always been the deleted/alternate scenes.

We know that there are 10 of these in the XBox edition within the SmartGalss Experience, and they are:

    Deleted Scene: Captain's Log (0:44)
Alternate Scene: Original Ending of Pike's Office (1:51)
Deleted Scene: Thomas Calls Marcus (0:46)
Deleted Scene: Kirk Watches Pike Get Shot (0:48)
    Extended Scene: Klingon Conversation (1:18)
Deleted Scene: Kronos Fight Before Khan Arrives (0:42)
Unused Footage from Dailies: Khan Walking Back and Forth in Brig (0:19)
    Deleted Scene: Carol's Accent Explained
    (0:21)
Deleted Scene: Scotty Talking to Hangar control (0:47)
Deleted VFX Scene: Vengeance Falling to Earth (0:19)

So, does anyone have them? Does anyone know where to get them?
(well, aside from buying an Xbox, an iPad, and the movie itself which I couldn't do even if I wanted to since it’s only for US territory).

    Best,

There's also the infamous Khan shower scene.
I don't have an XBox or iPad either. It's pretty crappy that the studios can't be bothered to put the deleted scenes on the normal retail version of the movie. And it looks like the shower scene didn't even make it on the Xbox version.
All the better to get us to rebuy with a special edition release down the road I guess.

Carol's underwear scene and Khan's shower scene were both pointless. They didn't need to be in the movie.

From what I saw of Khan's scene though, there is some emotion in the scene. Khan is really freaky menacing there, so I think it had some value.
As opposed to Kirk perving on Carol while the camera invites the audience to do the same. That scene needed a serious rewrite at least. We'd already gotten a gratuitious threesome with Kirk and cat women twins, that didn't serve any purpose either.
Meanwhile, the supporting cast didn't have enough to do, Chapel was mentioned again but not shown, and we've still never seen a real gay person on screen, something JJ said he wanted to do in the second movie. All presumably due to a lack to time. But there's also time for Kirk to have threesomes with female twins and check out chicks in their underwear.

The shower scene is GREAT absolutely menacing, sociopath scene. That he is so intimidating while naked really works.

Has anyone ever been able to confirm whether the image posted in this thread supposedly from a deleted scene is legitimate?

And J.J. would agree with you, as far as Khan's shower scene goes.

You beat me to asking that. If no-one can answer, it doesn't bode well for X-Box's ID sales figures.:p

Absolutely. That's what I meant, but you expressed it better than I did. That scene adds to Khan's menace and thus has value in the movie beyond sex appeal. Although, yeah he is nice to look at.

Honestly if I had to pick between scenes I would take the Khan one and ditch Carol, nice as her underwear is to look at. There is also the appeal of seeing Khan in what is presumably his flat in London, the placing of him in a domestic setting in that time period.

Well, I certainly can't confirm since I haven't seen the scenes, but it seems reasonable to me. It could be:

Deleted Scene: Thomas Calls Marcus (0:46)

If just someone around here had an xBox he/she could give us some more insights. I installed the smartglass App on my iPhone (it's free), but when I tried to access the movie (or any other content) it wants to connect to the xBox (which I don't have).

    Best,
    Maab

I assume we only see the upper body.

Yeah, but he's taking a shower. We don't have to see full frontal to figure that he's naked in the shower.

So what was the explanation for nuCarol's accent? At first I thought maybe her mother was British and had raised her, but then the movie stated she'd been raised by her father.

Weirdly, it's in the brig, with that big glass screen. He's Khan the Exhibitionist.

She grew up in England because her father was assigned to that data archive that blew up at the beginning.

    From the novelization:

“He was stationed in London when I was born, but soon afterwards my parents split up. When I was old enough, I joined Starfleet to follow in his footsteps. I’m not particularly proud of using my connections, but it was the only way I could gain access to the diversity of programs he personally oversaw. He never seemed to mind. In fact, I think he encouraged my curiosity. We never kept things from each other. Not that I ever had much to conceal from him. Then things... changed.”

Ah, thank you. :) I never read the novel, so it's nice to have that bit explained.
