Excuse my French, but that was FUCKING AWESOME. It's my bed time and I'm so hyped. Finally McGann gets what he so deserved, just a damn shame it wasn't longer.

    As do I.

I'm still processing this... Paul McGann back as the Doctor! And, in a scene featuring the return of the Sisterhood of Karn, no less!

Its so very much a welcome addition to the canon - complete with name dropping for his Big Finish companions (in case someone thought they didn't count). That helped make this transition complete, to me. And for once, Moffat was spot-on - the Hurt Doctor appears here rather young-ish, probably in his 30's or 40's... so he HAS been around for a long while.

Only question: Does this mean that the regenerations since have been a by-product of the Sisterhood? Or that the Hurt Doctor is really an altered Eighth Doctor?

    And the internet explodes...

For some reason the sound is a lot clearer on the Youtube version than the iPlayer one...

You know, I actually think Tennant and Smith might be a bit of a disappointment after that. But could we hope to get more McGann in the main feature? Even a little more?

That was fun. A little too rushed even for an exercise in box-ticking, but with some nice moments, and of course McGann is very good. Best of all, Doctor Who forums will no longer be clogged with "When are they bringing the eighth Doctor back for a regeneration?" threads. Now instead it'll be "When are they bringing the eighth Doctor back for a proper story?"

And I'm wondering if the early release might have been a bit of a birthday present for McGann, who turns 54 today.

After watching that it would practically be criminal for them not to do something with McGann's Doctor in the future, he was absolutely brilliant!

    SWEET ZOMBIE JESUS!

I hoped. I prayed. I dared to dream. But not for one moment did I actually think it would happen!

Best part: The listing of the Big Finish companions! :D

Yep, the moment I saw this, I was like, "The internet is exploding as we speak."

Eighth Doctor. Hurt Doctor. Sisterhood of Karn. Big Finish references.

The hubby was just giggling at me being so excited. I'd been trying not to get excited, trying to remain aloof and snooty. But now I give in. They've got me.
