Played around for a couple more hours yesterday after beating the story. Tracked down some criminals...unlocked all of the Riddler radio towers...completed the Anarky mission...

I dunno, there's just something about this game that's less satisfying that the previous two. Maybe it is just that it was more of the same. Honestly, this game almost felt like an Arkham City Expansion Pack rather than a game all its own.

Have we heard anything about Arkham 4? There were rumors earlier this year that Kevin Conroy let slip that he was recording "the new Batman game," but he wasn't referring to "Arkham Origins." The theory at the time was that Rocksteady was working on an Arkham City sequel, which is why they let WB develop Origins to help tide us over.

I'm not sure if Conroy meant a game or the Arkham-based DTV that's supposed to be similar to the game.

Random thought, but wouldn't it be cool if the next Rocksteady game uses 'No Man's Land' as a basis? And after that, maybe Batman Beyond? ;)

I don't know... In the post I made earlier in this thread, Conroy very clearly referred to a "New Arkham Game" he had been doing voice work for over the last 10 months.

I will say this... If WB is planning to annualize this franchise, they'd better do more than just regurgitate the same old every year or risk falling into certainly mediocrity. As it stands now, Rocksteady is hopefully working in something totally awesome and different than previous titles.... If they are doing the next Arkham game.

I haven't finished it yet, but I'm close. The boss fights are some of the best I've ever seen!! The Firefly fight was very cinematic. Aside from all the technical glitches, this is a very ambitious game. I'm impressed with the new WB Montreal and hope they get a chance to flex their development skills after this. I've read on other forums that some people are declaring this the best Arkham game yet. I don't quite agree with that, but I can see how some see it that way. This is a pretty good game.

Hell, Dark Knights Rises should've done that, in my opinion. They definitely borrowed liberally from it anyway.

I just defeated Deathstroke and I'm doing some housekeeping with some of the relays just to keep things interesting.

Beat the story mode which came quicker than I expected since I didn't fill all the slots I thought would be ticked by the end.

The game is a bit of a retread of course but still it's a solid and complete experience, it may not live up to the others but it's not like a half a game. I thought the evidence scanner was really cool, the batplane is badass, Copperhead is hot, all the bosses are top notch, even Gordon gets a moment of awesome. It starts off warm but picks up as the game progresses and by the end it was feeling like a real Arkham experience. It was fun to see not only Batman meet his biggest nemesis but seeing what meeting Batman meant to him as well.

I would like to get all the time back I spent trying to get into the vent in that Riddler tower before I went online to find that it was broken.

No wonder they need Batman, Gotham City has criminals on every single street!

And why can't anyone figure out if you're going to have an Adam West skin you have to have POW! and WHAMS! while you fight (maybe even some crazy sound FX and music)? That alone would've secured a day one DLC (or "Season Pass") purchase for me. And I think the press would've ate it up and brought a lot of visibility, oh well... And if you want to go off the deep end get Adam West to voice it.

I think it feels kind of short because it backloaded with the plot. I mean for the first part of the game it doesn't seem a whole lot is going on and then about halfway through or so, it really kicks in. All of the interaction and development of Gordon and Alfred is really in the latter portions of the game.

I don't really understand the previous poster who stated that there were no references to Arkham in the game. Maybe it's because I explored more and didn't rush through the main plot, but I saw all kinds of references to the Asylum. Not even counting the conversation during the credits that specifically deals with the issue. Heck, one of the characters even winds up in what looks like the Asylum at the end.

And, I'd like to add that Troy Baker does an excellent job as The Joker. I personally never felt that he was doing an impersonation of Mark Hamill. IMHO, he seems to have a darker, more menacing quality to his delivery than Hamill. Not necessarily BETTER, but different.

At the time if this game, Arkham Asylum doesn't exist. This is the story if the origin of Arkham Asylum and how the Blackgate Prison was inadequate to house the super criminal.

Sorry. Arkham Asylum was actually built like 150 years ago. Its mentioned in several of the Cyrus Pinkney files and its history is told in the Ghost of Arkham files found in the first game. There are several references to it in the Blackmail files in Origins and Quincy Sharp even talks about opening it back up.

Yeah, the original facility and the island are still there in Origins. You can see it offshore.

Ok. That's the part that led me to believe that this was the story of Arkham Origins.

Latest Humble Bundle has both Asylum and City in addition to FEAR 2, 3 and Scribblenauts Unlimited. Check it out if you don't own 'em yet.

I did wonder about having both Deathstroke and Deadshot. Reminded me of the JLU episode with Plastic Man and Elongated Man. "We only need one stretchy guy."

The only bug I've encountered is disappearing croc so I count myself lucky.

The Origins map is bigger than City. The City map is part of Origins. I don't think Arkham City was bigger.

I'm not the most versed with DC but it seems to me that Deathstroke and Deadshot are quite different from each other. One guy is trying to beat your ass and the other's trying to shoot it. The boss fights couldn't have played much different from each other.

Haven't gotten to Deadshot in Origins yet but if it's anything he was in Arkham City I'm inclined to agree. I still have to keep Deathstroke/Deadshot/Deadpool/Bullseye straight in my head...
