Fantastic trailer. I think this has the potential to be the best X-Men movie yet.

    Right here buddy.
I liked the trailer but I'm worried that I'll set my expectations too high, like I did for the first X-Men movie. With all the bases they plan to hit in this movie, I'm also worried they'll leave something out. Can this movie be as good as it could be, or will it spell doom for the franchise?

As a kid, I read countless numbers of comic books, with X-Men being the most dominant. When the first X-Men movie came out, I broke down every trailer, still, or clip I could find which spoiled much of the movie. I don't wish to do that with DoFP but at the same time I do.

But that's me, conflicted on matters that any sane person would consider moot.

I am neither pleased or displeased by that trailer. I should be excited by what I just saw, but I'm not. I had the same reaction to the Captain America trailer. I think I'm immune to trailer hype. Very interesting.

I didn't think much of the trailer, either, although I really hope the movie is good.

I thought this was one of the most emotional trailers that I've seen in a long time. Agreed with JacksonArcher about the focus on character and the links between characters. I think that was an important choice. It also did a great job of hinting at the plot as well. I think the next trailer will probably be more action oriented. Also Peter Dinklage's Trask sitting at the microphone stand was such a simple image but relayed so much. I believe too that was "Inception" music used as John Ottman hasn't written his score yet.

And Singer said in his Twitter Q&A the other day that the action sequences weren't finished yet, so none could be included.

I thought it was pretty good!

Where have I heard that trailer music before?

I thought it was overdone. It looks like the kind of trailer people will be making fun of in 10 years. Nice to see a lot of the old gang back tho.

I don't know anything about this "awful future" so whatever it is will be a surprise for me. Based on your post and what I saw, I'm guessing that the future version of the characters are in a timeline different from the one we saw in the other X-men movies. I haven't been following this thread so I don't know if that's been talked about already.

Inception probably. It's the new Requiem for a Dream.

Bravo to Bryan Singer for releasing an atypical movie trailer for a superhero film. Nice to see a trailer without a bunch of stuff being destroyed....

"Gravity" just used it for their TV spots. It's from the movie "Sunshine"

Well, there was a naked blue chick doing acrobatics...that has to count for something.

Not necessarily...it could be that the present of the continuity that the earlier films were set in has gone horribly wrong, and they're backtracking its historical cause to an earlier point. Indeed, they went horribly wrong for us several years ago. This could be their way of doing a reboot so that the new cast is free to explore their own stories into the present timeframe.

I usually reserve judgement for the final product (or at least I try to), but this trailer is pure awesome and it's not even the main one.
    It's the bits'n'pieces-they-have-in-the-can-early-trailer only.

makes me want to wake up in my older body in may next year and watch the movie now.

Ahhhh so excited for this movie! :D

Minor wish: the "present"/future characters (the old cast) gets a lot of screen time; Kitty especially since she was so integral to the original story but won't be as much here.

Wow, the trailer looks great. Remaining cautiously optimistic... but very optimistic nonetheless. :)

Yeah, it looks good. Wolverine as the vehicle for time travel, though, bothers me because he won't get destroyed by a Sentinel.

I nearly cried like a little pussy watching that trailer. With the X-flicks there are some good ones. Some not so good ones. And some godawful ones. This is gonna be a great one! Mutant and proud muthafucka! Bring on 2014!
