That's a great book. Possibly my favorite this year.

Just finished the Titan novel, Typhon Pact: "Seize the Fire". I actually enjoyed it. A pleasant surprise as I had heard it wasn't very good.

Starting Gene Roddenberry's "Star Trek The Motion Picture" novel today. I have "Ex Machina" and "Fallen Gods" on the way.

I'm so, so sorry. Congratulations for surviving what is arguably the absolute worst novel in Trek publishing history.

Published my review of the book Fan Phenomena: Star Trek, a collection of articles about Star Trek fandom.

Now I'm finishing up The Year of the Flood by Margaret Atwood, and picked up Imzadi by Peter David for the first time in years. Just kind of had an urge to re-read it, you know?

Reading for the first time Greg Cox's books The Rise And Fall Of Noonien Singh and To Reign In Hell. Halfway through book one of the Rise... So far loving it. This is the kind of backstory Khan needed on film.

Thanks I certainly didn't care for this story it was really had disappointing storyarcs for all the tos characters. I felt the same about the Folded world book too.

Just googled that, it sounds amazing!!!

In the mean time, thanks to a great deal, I've got 20 secondhand Trek novels, including the entire A Time To series. Finished the first two. Not that great, John Vornholt isn't my favorite writer. But I knew before I bought them that the general view of ATT is hit and miss, so we'll see.

Finished The Horse With My Name by Colin Bateman. A not bad blackly-comic crime romp, but had a really weirdly nasty torture scene about three-quarters through which would have been fine in a gritty and nasty crime story, but just didn't fit with the tone of the rest of the book, if you see what I mean.

    Currently reading:

The Escape (VOY #2) by Dean Smith and Katherine Rauch
Gone for Soldiers by Jeff Shaara

Over the last week, I finished:

    Warped by K.W. Jeter
The Romulan Stratagem (TNG #35) by Robert Greenberger

Warped was surprisingly disappointing and just really didn't make a whole lot of sense to me. However, The Romulan Stratagem made up for that with an excellent mystery story and a very unexpected ending, although the subplot with Ensign Ro felt tacked-on and unnecessary.
