^I am incredibly excited for XCOM:Enemy Within! Enemy Unknown is already a great game, and everything I've read about EW sounds awesome. In particular, I like the idea of aiming angles and them rejiggering some of the abilities so there may not necessarily be an obvious, "correct" ability to choose anymore.

Yeah the Enemy Within might get a very rare first day purchase out of me, though I may still hold off so that I can sort of justify how much I'm going to splurge on XB1 and PS4 :(

Gave up on Star Trek, the bugs annoyed me too much. Just got NeverDead to give it a go.

Well NeverDead isn't much better. Not sure I'll stick with this one.

I've mostly given up on buying games at the minute. Signed up to Boomerang games to rent them. That way if a game sucks I don't feel like I've wasted a lot of money or like I have to finish a game I don't like to get my money's worth.

Yeah, rental is pretty much the way to go for the majority of new releases, unless you're like Donald Trump or something.

Just competed that myself. Had one of the most courteous endings I have ever seen.

We hope you have enjoyed playing Tomb Raider.
We have worked our hardest to bring you the best game we could possibly make.
Thank you for taking the time to complete our game.

Finished Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon. I like that they had fun with this DLC and really delivered a new experience altogether rather than just more of the same. The OTT neon future from an 80s b-movie POV was silly great.

For a start-and-stop gamer like myself though the game only letting you save after a mission is complete was the worst part. A system that lets you save at checkpoints would have been very welcome, I sometimes only want to play for a spurt of 20 minutes or so and to be forced to complete the mission or lose all progress sucked. The worst part is it wasn't obvious to me it was doing that and I had to redo the annoying intro level three times or so before I figured out why it wasn't saving (thank you internet forums).

Started The Last of Us, which has a brilliant introduction but I found the initial gameplay to be lackluster so far. Hoping things pick up since this has been getting a lot of buzz.

I'm determined to make a dent in the pile of unplayed games that have built up over the last three steam sales so I'm alternating between Borderlands 2, Tomb Raider, Bulletstorm and FTL. I also have Alan Wake, Witcher 1 & 2, Skyrim & Arkham installed. I've heard rumours that AC will shortly be having it's DRM patched out, so I'm holding off for now.

Oh and I'm also starting a new DA2 playthough. Yes, the new game has me *that* interested I'm willing to suffer through it again! ;)

In anticipation of the next X game coming out in a few months, I'm going back to X3: Terran Conflict, and starting to enjoy it more than I remember.

    Also, more Minecraft.

Just got done with Tomb Raider. Really enjoyed it, but I can see why some of the old school fans hated it. It's a significant departure in both tone and gameplay and if I'm honest, there was probably a little too much focus on combat.

Not sure what to concentrate on next. Anyone have a particular recommendation out of these: 'Mirror's Edge', 'Deadspace', 'Brutal Legend', 'Witcher 1&2', 'Crysis 2' & 'Alan Wake'?

I did have a go at some of the classic Tomb Raiders (never played them back in the day) but for the life of me I can't get used to the PC controls and trying to re-map to my Windows Xbox controller doesn't seem to work either. :/

Out of those games the only one I've put significant time into is Alan Wake. I really enjoyed that game but if I'm coming off of Tomb Raider I would try something else. It's got a lot of the same third-person shooter gameplay, I think some of the other games are probably a better change of pace.

Yeah I had a similar thought. From what I've seen the gameplay looks like it's mostly running around at night inside a Stephen King novel, shining torches at things and shooting them in the head. Deadspace might also be a little too similar.

I'm not a huge military shooter fan beyond the Half-Life games so I'm in no hurry to try out Crysis 2...plus I worry it might make my PC catch fire.

Not sure if I'm of the mindset to get into a deep RPG series like Witcher right now, so I'll probably try 'Brutal Legend' next (thank you Humble Bundle!) It's a 'Double Fine' game and looks pretty light hearted and colourful. Oh and it has Lemmy in it! :D

Fun playing in just Ghost/Stealth mode, completing missions without alerting/harming anyone. Those dogs are a pain in the butt though.

It was funny though seeing GTAV on the front of Guardian, and discussed on radio.

Mirror's Edge is fun. Haven't played the others.

There's a great area in Mirror's Edge that a swear was based on the final level of Price of Persia 1......
