Everyone's favourite bumbling idiot returns to television. No, not Wesley. Not Joxer. Not Sam with bad luck. Yeah, that one.

Inspector Gadget is being rebooted by a Canadian Company called DHX Media and is going to start airing on Teletoon in Fall 2014. I loved the show growing up, but nostalgia aside it's a fairly crappy show. I hope this modern remake turns out to be more than a cheap cash-in and we end up with TMNT 2012 or even Thunder Cats 2011 quality.

I kinda hope they go with the fan theory that Dr. Claw was the original policeman that Inspector Gadget was based on.

Wow. That show brings back memories :). Hopefully they'll do a good job on the reboot. Not counting on it though.

Maurice LaMarche, who's been voicing Gadget since Adams's death.

I hope they bring back the original Gadget Mobile.

I am concerned about this...the last bunch that tried to renew Gadget cast Matthew Broderick and DL Hughley as the fricking car.

It's a Canadian project instead of an American one, so there's still a faint glimmer of hope.

So, will they keep the classic schtick of the Inspector repeatedly "falling for" a cross dressing dog?

You know, that reads a bit more disturbing in print. :wtf:

    Sincerely,

    Bill

I'm watching the Broderick movie as I type this (It's on Starz ATM.), and it is really terrible.

Gadget was one of my favorite cartoons when I was a kid. I hope they can do it justice.

The intro music for Gadget is classic.

This is the same company that made the new Pound Puppies, Littlest Pet Shop and of course, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

DHX are the main production company for the latest My Little Pony, Littlest Pet Shop, Carebears and Transformers reboots.

Regardless of opinions on the content of those shows, technically they're very impressive and have a pretty generous budget, if Gadget gets the same level of animation production it's at least going to look good and have a talented cast.

Though it's going to be hard to replace Adams' voice, it did get a little grating and Gadget gets more annoying as the show goes on, hopefully they'll produce a less irritating character this time.

Absolutely loved this show as a kid, but yeah, like most of those shows back then it doesn't hold up that well (with the opening title sequence usually being the best part of the show).

It's still a very cool and fun concept though, and it'd be great to see it really done justice some day.
