I just thought that was your favorite aspect of ST.:techman:

This trailer looks like a legit action movie like some of the blockbusters of the last few summers. if they were going for kinetic, they beat ST09 by a mile.

I am loving brash young rule breaking Kirk! Why he reminds me of another Kirk who never lost his cowboy hat :adore:

I can't get over the love child of the Millenium Falcon and Jupiter 2 from the Lost in Space movie.

    Concerning this picture:

Seems like this isn't the Enterprise in the shot, considering Kirk likely started his spacewalk from the Enterprise. Question is, then, what ship is it? April's Enterprise? Another (older) Constitution class? The nacelles look like those on the ship that crashes into SF Bay.

Or, the other option is that it IS the Enterprise (stolen by Harrison, because he wants to crash it), and they're doing a spacewalk to try and get back in.

For that Newton-type starship, I read NCC-07. I am not sure what that is to the left of the 7. It's possible that a number was supposed to exist between the 7 and the (X). How else to explain the strange arrangement of the registry? I am frustrated that i am not able to read the name.

One of the things that seems to set this teaser apart from the others, IMO, is that it's the first one that hasn't heavily relied on images of the Batch, or his voice-over. Yeah, we see him, but this seemed far more Kirk-centric, to me.

Visually stunning indeed, but it's feeling more Star Wars than Trek, even more than ST09 did.

Just my take on it. I'm still intrigued enough to see it on opening day, but I find myself wondering just how transformed the nuTrek-verse is going to be by the time the end credits roll.

The thing I most love is that Kirk seems to be going through the exact same character arc in this film as in the last one. I hope every trailer for the next 10 Star Trek films opens with Pike busting Kirk's balls for being cocky, only for Kirk to act more mature and responsible by the end of the movie. It stops me getting confused by having to think about things and I'm very grateful to Abrams for it.

It's not Kirks Enterprise. I am betting that is April's original Enterprise.

Yep, now you can watch it just like the rest of us bumbling idiots who don't know anything about film. I'm certainly glad you pointed that out to us.

Anyway, Im pretty sure the ship we see in the space skydive shot is the ship that crashes into San Francisco Bay. Similar nacelle profile, wider pylons then Kirks Enterprise. And it would be AWESOME to think that that is Aprils original Enterprise and it's involved in the film.

Abrams is clearly trolling me this time.

But in all seriousness, that actually is a pretty cool looking ship. But the registry makes no sense at all, and I don't mean because there's a leading zero (although I am understandably upset over that). Two digit registry on a 23rd century design is just wrong.

If you ask me, Abrams should have made it the USS Bond NCC-007

Teh Canon would be violated truly with that kind of registry.

    Maybe it's the
USS Bradbury. Reports from the 28 minutes screenings said that it is mentioned in the movie.

It would leave the canon both shaken and stirred.

If the ship is named after Ray Bradbury, that is a nice homage. (This would be the second ship named after the author; the first was from the episode "Menage a Trois".)

Boosting the contrast, there appears to be a dark smudge in between the 7 and whatever that last digit is. It's as if there was a number there and it was either removed or has faded away for some reason.
