If you eat a Slitheen who ate a human recently, is that canabalism? I just want to see Ian take out something big and menacing.
So, he said on Twitter: "Re 50th I didn't say in what capacity or what medium so stay calm and carry on . Jb" This has me thinking that he's been approached to do the ninth Doctor chapter of Destiny of the Doctor with AudioGo/Big Finish. It's unlikely Eccleston or Piper would do it. Eliminate them, and Barrowman makes the most sense.
Didn't Eccelston say something not long ago, that left the impression he might be ameniable to Audio?
Well he was on Graham Norton's radio show this morning and said he wasn't allowed to talk about it as it got him into trouble. Don't think the readers for DOTD are top-secret info.
I worked with marketing copy for the fifth one recently. Title, plot, and reader were all, at the time, TBA. Yes, there was a big splash of information on the first, but after that there's less and less information from AudioGo. So, no, it doesn't surprise me one iota that people would ask Barrowman to dial back his enthusiasm if he's the reader of the ninth Doctor audio when they're being less than forthcoming about Destiny of the Doctor.
We'll find out soon enough since they'll be shooting in a month and unless it's 100% Studio Bound things will leak. (Actually even if is I wouldn't be surprised if the people who usually turn up at location shoots start hanging out in front of the studio to see who's going in.)
That would make sense. I was wondering who they were going to get to read it; was thinking they might have to bring in Noel Clarke to do it.
Moffat says a lot of things, and a few even turn out to be true. Given that he hasn't even finished the script, last I heard, for the anniversary special, anything else beyond that is just in his head at this point. So, I'd take it with a grain of salt. There could be anniversary stuff during season 8, but even he's not sure of it yet. Mr Awe
Just BTW he was specifically responding to a question apout appearing in the 50th Anniversary Special when he said he couldn't talk about it, on the radio. His sister Carol was also there and she added that he'd got in trouble with the BBC for what he said on the TV. So not an audiobook then. (Though that doesn't mean he won't be doing that too.)
Didn't he say that the idea of the 60-minute special being all there is is rubbish? I thought the episode on 23/11 was confirmed to be 60-mins and in 3D, but took his comments to mean that there's more to be announced?
Indeed. But the other version keeps getting repeated, despite the fact that the video is there for anyone to watch.
Nothing's been confirmed, but it's certainly plausible to read his comments so as to mean there's more to be announced rather than explicitly rejecting the 60 min episode.
His words would seem to say one thing while the production realities another. If there are more anniversary "things", I think they'll be either in the Christmas special and/or during season 8. It doesn't seem feasible, from what is known, to include more specials in between season 7 and season 8. With that said, I think it would be great if there is more. So, it would be great if there was a surprise. Mr Awe
Has anything been announced about the Christmas episode? I wonder if maybe the 60 minute special could be the first part of a story and the Christmas episode part 2 sort of like what they did with The End of Time. It wouldn't be ideal but it certainly would be better then a single episode for the anniversary.
He kinda needs to be there As for the future of Torchwood, I thought RTD said it was on indefinate hiatus due to "personal reasons"? Granted that could mean they can get the funds to do season 5 properly.
On a tangential note, Freema Agyeman isn't in the Anniversary Special. She is, however, going to be in a BBC America program, probably the tenth Doctor Doctor Who Revisited documentary.
Poor Freema. She showed a lot of potential in Series 3 then was given thankless Torchwood guest spots, turned in to a UNIT grunt (She's meant to be a doctor!?) and ends up married to the other third wheel for The Doctor and Rose's one true pairing
I started making a Doctor's Daughter fan-fiction some time ago that's supposed to do something with Martha, in between its future misogynistic society with guns as holy icons and stuff The Anniversary episode can be a second part after the Series 7 finale. Moffat said the Doctor's greatest secret will be revealed in the finale (sure).
Freema is totally sorted if someone had the balls to work off the land. She's already "starring" in a show set in 1984 across the pond. How hard would it be to include young Carrie Bradshaw into NuWho continuity if it is revealed that Freema has been playing Martha lost in time all along?
