Just as a reminder. The innate fleet chat is hardly used.
Join the TrekBBS Subspace Com channel for account wide access to fleet chat.

I tend to be more on the quiet side, content with playing the game but that's just me. The channel should be as silent or as noisy as you want it to be

But timelord is right, we usually use the TrekBBS Subspace Com channel rather than the fed/kdf specific fleet channel.

I don't suppose we could forgo some of the dilithium costing assignments for the fleet starbase could we?

Dilithium is easier than doffs in my opinion.

What ? You just buy the doffs on the starbase itself for fleet credits.
How much easier does it get? ;)

DOFFs are easier for me. I always seem to have too many white ones taking up space.

Oh jeez, I had forgotten about that!

I have just 125 doff roster slots open, which has been filled for a while. Which is probably why I have forgotten about the diff store on the star base. But it has always been enough to use up my assignment slots so I haven't bothered getting more. Might be time.

The star base assignments that take doffs grant more TAC/ENG/SCI points don't they? I thought we veered towards the dilithium heavy assignments because of the difficulty filling the doff requirements.

Yeah it used to be we were better at filling dilithium projects than doff projects. But I guess since Season 7 and its countless dilithium sinks came out, we've been sort of stuck on the dilithium front as well. I've actually queued up a doff-centric engineering project two weeks ago but it is still stuck behind the dilithium projects.

By the way, in 4 days our Romulan Embassy's first upgrade will be ready, an extra duty officer assignment slot for everyone :)

Yeah, I used to put in a LOT of dilithium to the star base projects, when the exchange rates were much more favorable and I had more time to spend in game grinding up dilithium.

I put some Dil towards the Provision Fleet Ships as that seems to be the closest to finishing.

Anyone fancy doing something together as a fleet tomorrow night? I'll be online all evening.

Any idea why I keep going back and forth from 'Crewman' to 'Cadet' repeatedly?

That brings me to a question I've been meaning to ask... What's the criteria used when promoting a Cadet to Crewman?

Nothing, really. Cadet is just what it defaults to when you send the invite. In general, you should get promoted to Crewman (for random players) once you've been in the fleet a little while, participate in the projects, don't go bank-happy, etc.

For members who are also posters on TrekBBS and have long-established accounts, it should go right up to the middle, default level (officer?) after that brief "probation" window.

for the most part, we're good at sending the invites when asked, but unless you then request the promotion, no one really goes back and looks. If you got overlooked, just post in here, and I'm sure you'll get promoted. :)

Anything past the standard level, we don't really move around a lot. Goal is to pretty much just have the fleet admirals, and then enough Junior Adjuncts (or whatever we named them) to cover the time zones to the point where there's a chance you might find someone if you need fleet help, access to the bank goodies, etc.

Thanks for the feedback. It wasn't not getting promoted that I was wondering about, I seemed to have gotten promoted, then demoted, then promoted again, then finally demoted all within a few hours. I thought I was gonna have to clean the latrines or something. :D

eta: I like buying from the fleet stores is why I was concerned.

We have just unlocked Romulan Embassy's Recruit Tier I, which means everyone gets to buy an additional Duty Officer Assignment Slot for 50,000 fleet credits! That is, you will get 21 assignments instead of just the usual 20 assignment slots.

    How to claim:
    1) Visit our Romulan Embassy on New Romulus
    2) Find the Turbolift, use it to get to the Shuttlebay
    3) Find a console called "Requisition Consumables"
    4) Open the consumables store (yes, its confusing) and select "Assignment Slots"
    5) Select "+1 Active Duty Officer Assignment Slot" and click buy.
