    That was a possibility.

I saw Franklin leave the ship first last month and jump about on the planet.

    He didn't toddle.

Dictionary definition of a toddler is someone learning to walk, and most children can walk before they can talk.

Clearly at most a 10 year old but still older than Valeria who is a super intelligent 3 or 4 who is also not a toddler, and they were both talking in concise unbroken English.

Besides they have Alex Power walking around back home, which severely dates Franklin from his Power Pack days even if they didn't reset him exactly after Fantastic Force.

I'd blame the artist more so that the writer if anyone for your confusion. Mark Bagely doesn't know how to draw, or doesn't want to draw fat people. At his worst his characters all look like they have eating disorders.

    Edit.

Just reread your post and glommed onto a new word: "preschool".

    Maybe?

Franklin hasn't gone to a real school or mingled with other children so he's probably emotionally arrested to that point in age like any hothouse flower.

to be fair Franklin's age has always been in flux. but i do agree that Reed should have learned his lesson about keeping secrets.

I'm pretty sure that when he was wearing that modified FF uniform where the chest emblem said 4 and a 1/2 that he was four and a 1/2, but yeah once he took that off, everything started fluxing.

Franklin having a nightmare and going to mommy after all the work Hickman did to mature Young Franklin really bugged me. I understand being terrified about the loss of your family in a dream you probably don't quite understand, but I really don't see Hickman Franklin doing that.

After a punch in the balls the first word out of most of our mouths is "mommy".

I'm half way through reading where Young Scott meets Mystique(it's on the cover, so not a spoiler, and it was set up late week.) and I'm thinking DON'T TRUST HER! She's wearing a belt made out of human baby skulls! Why would you trust a woman wearing a belt made out of human baby skulls, sure, even if they're plastic baby skulls, the girl is still going for a distinct satanic if you fall asleep I will sacrifice you to the devil vibe ...But when you really began to think about what a belt made of human baby skulls nestled over her reproductive organs might really mean, remembering that she screwed a demon and had a baby, the answer is somewhat blatently obvious.

It has to be a mystical chasity belt.

But is it Raven's mystical chastity belt to stop other demons or the same demon from using her as a baby factory or did Azaezel leave it there becuause her lady area still belonmgs to him?

Idiot didn't realize she can move her vagina, but short of asking doctor Strange for a favour, Mystique can't pry the bastard off her hips and she's been stuck with it for 40 years.

    Oh.

What if she gave birth to a littler, and Kurt was the one that got away somehow? And the rest of her euthanized children, she wears their skulls as a belt to advertise exactly what happens to any antichrist some wannabe Beelzebub tries to stick into her oven.

Everyone wants to be Mary, no one wants to be Rosemary.

Well, I'm enjoying Hickman's Avengers so far, but it's so out there and bizarre it doesn't feel like it should be the Marvel flagship title the way that Bendis' Avengers was. There's no normal people dialogue it's all so intellectual. I think it would have been nice to have one "normal" title and one "intellectual" title. But I guess there's always Avengers Assemble for that...

I am loving this new Smasher. :)

She feels like Nova crossed with Blue Beetle, but frakk it.

Dorothy went to Oz with her rose coloured glasses.

What's bizarre about it? Hickman is exploring high concepts in both books, much the same way that Grant Morrison does in his work. Sometimes it's indecipherable and takes a couple of reads to comprehend, but most times it's laid out there perfectly plainly and explained. Not sure that I get the part about it's too "intellectual" for it to be Marvel's flagship book. Bendis and Hickman are too completely different writers who focus on different things in their writing, both are taking different styles to making the Avengers the marquee book in the Marvel Universe.

Also these aren't "normal" people. These are the world's smartest and greatest superheroes who are expanding their horizons and ambitions, just as Hickman is doing with his story telling in this book. Even more so with the Illumianti.

Roberto DaCosta is the worlds smartest Superhero?

That kid lost Billions while trying to learn how to juggle a soccer ball between his knees.

Not saying that all of the roster is smart...but there are a great deal of smart people in the team, and Tony and Steve seem to recruited heroes with specific talents this time around. I got the sense of strategic selection from them in their recruiting process, even to the core characters to a degree.

I love the new Smasher as well. The goggles remind me a lot of the World Mind.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

Had a thought about Beast during dinner.

He's not a telepath so he's not going to use the Mind Gem, or more accurately the Mind gem is not going to use him to increase what ever vestigial telepathy Henry does have. What Hank does have is a colossal intellect, a fantastic mind for storing, processing and analysing data... If that's his mental skill, then perhaps that's what the mind gem will glom onto and enhance his intellect a thousand fold, making the Leader or the Kree Supreme Intelligence seem like peabrains, rewarding Dr McCoy with a massive boost in intuitiveness and inginuity that what's going on in his brain makes Forge's mutant superpower seem like instructions to a Lego Fire Engine.

    Actually.

I know that the Gems are not connected so it shouldnt be able to effect time, but if the human morphic field exist despite linear time, what if this intellectual boost goes forward and backward in time, so that gaining the Gem now retroactively makes Henry a Supergenius since Birth?

I guess what I'm saying is, the characters aren't down to earth or relatable they're more like modern day gods... I miss the ole Bendis trope of the Avengers sitting around a table bickering with each other... but again I like it, I'm just saying it's not as mainstream. Interesting move.

    Bendis speak is fantastic.

    But Luke Cage is gone.

Ever since he said "SAY MY NAME JUNKIE!!!!" it was clear that he was keeping these Gods "grounded" with the filth.

Am I reading in-between the lines correctly in coming to the conclusion that the new Smasher is supposed to be the grand-daughter of non-Marvel character Dan Dare?

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

All right. I don't have the time to do this every week like I used to.

Avengers 5-- An origin story for the new Smasher and already, she's a character that I like and want to root for. I'm enjoying Avengers, but not as much as I'm sure I will later. Right now, Hickman is putting all of his pieces on the board and setting things up. I'm sure there will be at some in this run, as there has been for every Hickman book that I've followed, a moment where something happens, my jaw drops with sudden realization, and I go back and re-read the whole run from the first issue. I love it when a book can do that.

New Avengers 3-- Wow. I didn't expect things to get this dark this quickly.

Of course, there was no way a man like Captain America could continue to be in a group like this. However, the way his departure was handled came as a bit of a shock.

One thing of note regarding this issue's connection to the upcoming Thanos event. It would seem not be a simple re-hash of the Infinity Gauntlet tales as some have speculated due to one event that I'm sure will have many repercussions down the line...

While the gauntlet was being used by Rogers, the Infinity Gems... shattered. Self-destructed? It was an event that did not go un-noticed as it drew the attention of Uatu (of course), Galactus, and... Thanos.

Hickman has said that NA was currently the most important book in the MU, and I think that this is the beginnings to why.

All-New X-Men 7-- I am loving this book! I've always had a soft sopt for the O5, but this book is far better than I imagined it would be. I love the interactions of the O5 with the modern cast and their own future selves. Despite fears, I think Bendis has a real feel for the character's voices and a genuine direction in mind.

My favorite part, an exchange between Kitty, Jean and Teen Bobby--

Of course, that brings up a niggling continuity bit. While it made for a cute line, Future Hank pulled the O5 out of the past, specifically out of X-Men 8, "The Uncanny Threat of... Unus the Untouchable!" by Lee and Kirby, from the page just before Unus made his first appearance!

Iron Man 6-- Tony Stark in space. Worth it just to see Tony Stark get shot down by an alien princess because of the hideous growth on his face-- his beard! Also, he runs afoul of some people who accuse him of murdering their god. Stark doesn't remember killing a god.

Fearless Defenders 1--I'll give it an arc and decide. I want to support one of Marvel's female-centric titles, but the 1st issue didn't do much for me. There is an interesting dynamic between Valkrie and Misty Knight, and Dani Moonstar joins the cast with next issue, so hopefully, things will pick up.

Avengers Assemble Annual 1-- A nice character bit for the Vision, one of my favorite characters. Since he isn't going to be featured in any Avengers books, it's nice that they did this story to explain his absence. I like that he made contact with his "son", Billy from Young Avengers.

Hit-Girl 5-- Wow. Just wow. That is one crazy little bitch!:lol: Bring on Kick-Ass 3!:)

So while I was flipping through Fearless Defenders #1(which I've not read yet) I noticed an advert for a new Marvel Now title simply called Wolverine #1
Is the Savage Wolverine title a mini series? I had thought that was an ongoing.

If you don't have five or so ongoing Wolverine titles, you're doing something wrong!
