Too bad... shivkala's post had me wondering if maybe he didn't shoot her because Carol showed up at the last minute to save her life, and the shot was meant for something else. A walker who was chasing Carol, perhaps.

Of course, that wouldn't explain why Carl didn't tell anyone.

    R.I.P.

In the previews for next week's episode, they referred to the baby as a she.

Man, I really love how this show stirs emotions. When T-Dogg started talking more though, I started to wonder if he was going to die. Well, it looks like he may have another token replacement.

My money is on Axel trying to rape Beth and Carl killing him. Axel just has that child molester/rapist vibe about him.

    Yes, he does.

If I was Rick, I'd be going through prison records to find out what these guys were in for. If I was going to make his "non-negotiable deal", I'd base it on the answer.

Well, if this girl IS Rick's kid, then it could follow that she's human. The question is whether the kid in the Governor's city will be human.

If yes, then somehow infection was a one-time thing and not carried to the next generation.

If no, Rick--and presumably Carl and the baby, and possibly Herschel--seem to be immune. But didn't one of Herschel's sons turn, implying no immunity?

Where does it show that anyone including babies are ammuned? You get bit, you turn, Rick and Carl did not get bit, and the rational with Herschel is they cut off his leg before the local infection spread. The baby should be like everyone else, she is a carrier and if she dies she turns.

Still not getting why you think the girl in town would give birth to something "not human"? Everyone is infected. If you die you turn. Unless the baby is stillborn I don't see the issue.

Making people immune is a story telling copout. This show isn't about the "one fated to save the world", it's about regular people trying to survive under horrific circumstances and how they cope with it.

I think it's pretty obvious with this past episode that no one is safe.

Are Daryl and Meryl immune? I got the vibe that the interest in Daryl's location was more than brotherly concern.

I'm, for some reason, fixated on prior talk about the possibility of immunity from actual turning.

The guy at the CDC said everyone was infected. We've seen some people turn without actually having been bit, so turning does not seem to be dependent on actual injury, just dying while infected. Which is everyone. Unless, as some online posts here and elsewhere posited, some are immune.

I just took it from there. Am I way off? Probably. Has it been stated clearly on the show as impossible? I didn't think so. So I'm having fun "what if-ing."

You'd be mistaken then. From the beginning, both of them have had an insanely tight bond with one another. Daryl was ready to go into a city infested with zombies, alone, just on the off chance that Meryl was alive... and Meryl is ten times more crazy.

Okay - Just all the talk about immunity up thread made me wonder.

It hasn't come up either way on the show other than certain interpretations of some scenes/situations. Some people seem to be assuming that immunity is a factor or must be a factor one way or another and attributing certain behaviors to it without any evidence.

Did you miss that episode in the second season where Daryl falls trying to get away from walkers and has to crawl, injured, up the river bank? He hallucinated that Meryl was there, mocking him. It was pretty darn clear that their relationship was not a happy one. Meryl clearly loved bullying, controlling and dominating the younger brother. It makes perfect sense that he would still be interested in finding him as 1) it's the only family he has left, and 2)he clearly enjoyed being in control of his younger brother.

I would call that "insanely tight", even if it's not quite how Mister F meant it.

The fundamental nature of this universe is that the zombie plague is an unknown that can't won't be answered. It's not a plot point, the interactions of the survivors are. If anything, I hope that they don't ever decide to explain anything about the plague. It's here, it's happening, it won't ever be cured. Deal with it.

... Axel is actually quite a nice guy, albeit more of a biker dude than what we see here. There actually is another prisoner who isn't in the TV series, who is a serial murderer and claims two of Hershel's daughters who likewise don't exist in the series - this makes me nervous regarding Beth's immediate future. The bloodbath at the end of the prison arc claims a large number of the group too, but I'm sure that many of the cast won't make it that far...

The constant incorrect spelling of Merle's name is starting to drive me crazy. :p

Goddamnit! I was so looking forward to a Merle/T-Dog reunion.

But i liked how the show plays with my expectations. Lori died a lot sooner than i expected her to, and T-Dog lasted a lot longer than i expected him to.

The Woodbury stuff is boring me already.

Andrew Lincoln killed that last scene!
