I suppose it wouldn't have been kosher for him to say "Because it would have been even worse than Spider-Man 3." :p

I loved that. Did they have real on screen "web swinging" in Raimi's trilogy or was it all CGI?

I think most people will when they see it. Even the wall crawling looks better. The first issue of the Amazing Spider-Man comic adaption came out today. I got it. Will check it out a bit later.

Okay, that web-slinging clip was awesome. Consider my anticipation raised.

I liked "Fantastic Four"... Well it was alright but I think it also fell apart in many areas too. "F4:" Silver Surfer" was... Oy. Just a mess.

And, of course, F4 (and Spider-Man) and their merits (or lack of) has nothing to do with The MCU characters.

^ The poster earlier in the thread was making the point that we've seen elements of the Ultimate Universe in all these movies Trekker not that they had any connection to the MCU films because of it.

    That webslinging clip looks amazing.

I think this film will make a lot of people fall in love with Spider-man again.

Everything up to Ultimatum basically (was mostly good). Post Ultimatum was a mess until the rebirth umbrella which has gotten things back to decent.

I can't speak for the entire Ultimate line but Ultimate Spider-Man is my all time favorite Spidey-related comic series! Pure comics magic! Heck, I prefer Bendis' Ultimate Spider-Man to the Lee/Ditko run on Amazing and the Lee/Ditko run on Amazing was comics perfection!

the only sucky parts of UMU are Ultimates 3 and Ultimatum by Fucking Jeph Loeb and the two Ultimate Iron Man limited series by Orson Scott Card.

Even then, the Ultimate Spider-Man portion of Ultimatum was pretty powerful. USM: Ultimatum reinforced everything that makes Peter Parker a hero and ended with an image so powerful that it reduced me to little more than a big ball of blubbering human jelly. :D

I think the lesson here is that Loeb should have stayed with DC. :p
