At least British clubs aren't selling their names to sponsors yet, as many clubs have done in my league.

^ I'm amazed MK Dons haven't done it already. Surely only a matter of time before someone goes from Somewhere City FC to King Power FC (the example that keeps on giving, that one)

The real point of contention for most of us is that this has come from (almost) nowhere and no supporters or fans' groups have been consulted in the slightest. I was initially ambivalent about it all - after all, it's not like we'd be franchised or have the name changed, and strip colours have changed before - but.... no. Blue to red? Utter balls - all that stuff about psychology and marketing? Do me a favour. I would just about live with a red strip - just. And the money being talked about is all allocated to very good use, not least finally wiping out our debt with Langstone from the Hamman/Ridsdale days. But changing the bluebird to a dragon? NO. This club doesn't represent Wales and it doesn't represent Malaysia. It represents Cardiff and a good chunk of South East Wales. Taking away the blue and the bluebird makes our century-old nickname redundant, and that's as bad as changing the name ultimately.

If the Malaysians wanted to buy a Welsh club in red with a dragon on the badge they should have bought Wrexham, who have both.

This could all go seriously wrong. Talk of Blackburn/Pompey style collapses is a bit much for me at the moment, but clearly the owner has us over a barrel on this. LEt him have his Dragons or he pulls the plug. There's been so much goodwill to this group since they came in, they would be utter fools to go ahead with any of this without proper fan input. There's bound to be a way to keep everyone happy on this. Bound to be, even if it means playing in red with blue sleeves or something.

Ironically, now I live in London and hadn't renewed my season ticket anyway I'm planning to go to more away games than home next season anyway. And the away kit under all these changes.... would be blue. Go figure.

Can't believe being humiliated by Big Sam would be the least of our problems in the post-season!

You do have to wonder as well if it's just a hop and a skip to renaming you the Cardiff Dragons or something? And from there to moving the whole damn kit and caboodle somewhere else if the money's right, so Cardiff City become the Bristol Dragons (utterly random example).

Probably that is a trifle scare-mongery but you do have to wonder...

Anyway if there's any kind of petition/campaign let us know cos I for one will sign up to it (for whatever that's worth)

    Phew...sort of...

Daft question but what's Cardiff's away kit colours currently? Could they be red?

This season we had a white kit at the start of the season and for a few games at the end. The rest we had a very unpleasant black one with weird dark yellow patches. I hated it, but preferred it to playing in Swansea colours! This was it: http://tinyurl.com/bnmp9dv The one saving grace is that it isn't fluorescent!

We had this red away kit a few years ago - http://tinyurl.com/crk259r

I suppose having a red away kit means fewer opportunities for overseas audiences to see it. But then I didn't think they even showed the Championship over there anyway!

Yeah, that's fucking hideous. The blue one and the white one on that page are alright, if a little boring maybe.

LOL Yeah, can't remember if it was me, or my brother, but one of us definitely had that one too.

Think my favourite one was the 90-91 away kit, the black and grey striped with red shorts - awesome!

    Does look good....

Bit like an old Roma kit, especially with the red and orange.

The Liverpool kit looks good though the Utd kit looks good and bad depending on the angle of the picture, can't work it out :wtf:.

Roy or Woy as the dickheads of "The Sun" like to call him is picking his ENG squad on wednesday and am surprised he seems to be picking a final 23 man squad instead of a 28-30 man squad and then using the training camp + Norway match to skittle it down to 23 before UEFA's deadline. Who would be in your squads ?

    My Squad
    Hart
    Green
    Carson

    Richards
    Walker
    Ferdinand
    Jagielka
    Cahill
    Jones
    Cole
    Baines

    Young
    Lennon
    Chamberlain
    Parker (c)
    Gerrard (vc)
    Milner
    Carrick
    Lampard

    Rooney
    Welbeck
    Sturridge
    Walcott

Agree with most of that list.

Glen Johnson will undoubtedly go though, although personally I'd take Martin Kelly and then drop Richards.

I'd also drop Carrick and take Defoe.

Didn't they cause 'controversy' by consulting the wrong Hillsbrough Support Group or something, because they've moved the commemorative flames to the back (surrounding a 96 emblem now)?

Poor club can't win anything can they?

The United kit is hilariously bad.

Defoe lack of game time concerns me + Carrick's form since December and we need a good passer in the middle with Wilshere out.

I have a nasty feeling about Roy's picks to be.

Let's be fair, Roy's almost certainly going to start with Gerrard and Lampard, with Parker most likely holding behind them.

Given that, I'd rather take the additional striker. Defoe's not been playing much, so I'd play him the friendlies to start with. The problem without Defoe is that there's very little experience there. Plus Walcott's likely to start on the right of midfield.

Just wonder if Roy will be tempted to pick Carroll?

Parker, Gerrard and Carrick/Milner would be my preference over Lampard as I think it would increase England's tempo. The problem with the loss of Wilshere & Rodwell through injury is our midfield may end being as static as it was in 2010 especially if Barry is part of Roy's plans.

I think the temptation to have Parker-Gerrard-Lampard will be far too great for Roy. I can see him playing 5 across the middle, with Young and Walcott playing out wide. Of course this leaves one striker up front with the hopes of either Gerrard or Lampard pushing up quickly to support.

All this sounds great, but it's essentially been the England plan for as long as I can remember. Hasn't worked before......
