I'm sure they aren't. Haven't been able to keep up with the current customer base, what makes anyone think an influx of non-paying customers will make things easier?

I think working with Emmett Plant and the rest of the USS Blackheart would be a positive thing. The creativity and fresh perspective they would bring would be refreshing. BTW - when did the Blackheart leave Starfleet?

I'm the Search and Rescue team leader for the USS Vanguard and the Deputy Chief of Staff for Region 9 (Europe). As the Vanguard is an online gaming group, a few of them will be trying out STO.

Don't assume that there will be many f2p Kliingons initially. They can't play on the KDF side until they make commander on the FED side.

What are you saying? - That free-2-play is not the panacea we're expecting it to be.

I have to announce another big change.
With F2P I simplified the fleet uniform further...
From now on there is just one uniform for all members.
And for the first time it represents the TrekBBS with the correct Board colors (well, as close as i could get them anyway).
So hooray for the new board design which made this possible! :bolian:

Female version 1. If you don't liek skirts, there is a version 2 with pants, too.

Apparently silver players can't join any custom chat channels.
So for the time being please use the default fleet channel to communicate with all fleet members, unless you wish to talk to players on KDF side as well of course, if necessary double post in both channels.
Unfortuately that means any silver players on alternate non aligned toons can't participate in fleet chats for the time being.

I will try to find out if this intentional or just a bug.

Promised myself that I wouldn't get into (yet) another MMO. But after tinkering around with STO for a couple hours....sigh....yeah, I'm going to try to squeeze it in

Behold my flagship, the USS Temeraire

Ooooo, got a fleet promotion :)

I assume the new Fleet uniform is intended to be career field-specific, and not blue for everyone? Or are they now blue for all? Think I'd prefer still doing red/gold/blue for the colored part, and keeping the rest common. That's how I set mine up, then came back here and noticed that all yours were blue. I just like the look of this uniform in the red and gold colors as well as blue, but if anyone else has an opinion...

Yes, congratulations on your promotion. I guess this makes you the new US based fleet adjutant on watch...

The Uniform is supposed to be blue for everyone. As you may have noticed, it has the actual TrekBBS board colors now.
There is also no longer a distinction between normal members and adjutants.
Possible variations: Female members have a skirt or pants. If you have it, you can use the Open Jacket and the Jupiter Belt goes great with the rest.

I prefer wearing colors to match occupation, but I don't have a problem with a common fleet uniform. (especially since it's blue and Doc Lee is science) I normally use the regular colors with the away team so it's easier to track them as they run around doing their thing.

Doc Lee wears the fleet uniform when representing the fleet, but he wears something else when off duty or just running around. He sometimes wears a teal All Good Things or a TOS medical uniform.

I suppose you could have a tricolor uniform but most look hokey. Regardless, I think the uniforms should be easily identifiable to other players that any TrekBBS fleet members are from the same organization. Looks like the new fleet uniform will do that.

Exactly what I was going for.
If you prefer wearing traditional Starfleet colors you can do that with your normal uniforms. When showing colors for the fleet it should be the new dark blue.
But please keep the feedback coming. :)

Maybe we could try and tweak the blue a little, so it looks less like a bunch of SCI officers running around, at least? I like the design/cut, just not wild about that blue. I still use the gray BBS skin anyway, so don't know what you guys are talking about :p

N'Eraz@Glass.Half.Empty for the Klingon fleet please.

Also, if a few days I plan on deleting one of my Federation toons and stating again from the beginning. Most of her stuff will probably end up in the fleet bank. Do we only take rare and better?

Congratulations to any newly promoted adjutants...
Some changes on KDF side as well with the House of TrekBBS.
Kaziarl will from now on be the XO of the house.

    House ranks go as follows:

Recruit, Warrior, Officer, Junior Fleet Master, Fleet Master, First Fleet Master (XO) and Head of the House.

Rank priviliges are the same as on Fed side.

We don`t really have much of a House of TrekBBS going atm, so if you want to join us there as well, let us know.

As such the house bank is very limited right now.

Also, I have created a place holder uniform I am not really happy with it though.

For that reason I have decided to have a uniform design contest.

Create a KDF uniform for The House of TrekBBS.

    Only two requirements:
    1. No C-Store components, it has to be doable with just standard parts.
    2. Similar to the current fed uniform it has to have a TrekBBS color scheme.

We will vote on the winner when all entrys have been made.

I will create a seperate threat for this as well.

Winner will get a rare surprise from the fleet bank (on fed side)

Went to Drozana Station to see if Methos needed help with Spin the Wheel. Oh my, lots of newbs running around trying to figure how to rewire the replicators. :-P Should we invite people to the fleet or just wait until they stumble across TrekBBS?

Played a little Dabo but wasn't having much luck. After Spin the Wheel, saw that some of the fleet were at ESD so went there. Everyone was doing their own thing. Oh well, Doc Lee upgraded to the new FED fleet uniform. It's good.

    *****************************************

Doc Lee have used phasers and photon torps all along. He was my Fed purist. Now two steps away from VA and thinking about switching to tetryon. Since the skill changeup, exotic weapons are more affordable point wise. Any thoughts on a sci off using tetryon? Style of play is to try to knock down the opponent's shields then hit them with Tyken's Rift or Gravity Well. Photonic Shock wave is fun to use, but don't like letting an enemy get that close (within 3km). Thanks.

    Fleet Event scheduled for Sunday.

let's do shuttle do fighting :D

I just played the Vault again and noticed that this looks like actual dog fighting now with lots of phaser and torpedo shots visually missing.

    Should be quite the show...

i believe I will think up some special rules for this... Will definately more interesting then your standard Arena match....

Edit: It will most likely be mix of of Arena fight and capture the flag.

Each team consists of several shuttles/fighters and will alternately be defending or attacking a capital ship.

If the attacking team scores a victory against the capital ship without being wiped they can again go on the offensive. if the attack is thwarted the defenders become the attackers. Until one team gets, say 3 capital kills to win the match.
Destroyed shuttles don't count for match win.
The capitol ships will not be engaging and be totally passive, but can be buffed and healed by the shuttles.

So what are all the different ways to get EDCs and Dilithium? I know several dailies have Dilithium, and the STFs have EDC rewards (so far I have 2), but what else can I do?
