Re: Boner Bummer You obviously don't know anything about people who are suicidal. They tend to gather family and/or friends for 'one last hang out' before they kill themselves, which is something they already have planned to do. A co-worker of mine from work invited a bunch of his friends (guys from work) over to play cards. After they left, he jumped out his 17th story window. He was depressed because his mom had passed away about a year before and he didn't take it well.
Re: Boner Bummer Not to speak ill of the dead, but the suicidal usualy are pretty selfish, in that they don't think much about what their actions will impact on their surviving loved ones. The man was obviously troubled and needed help. It's a shame he felt he had no other way out.
Re: Boner Bummer I can't help thinking it should've been Kirk Cameron. Well, Tracy Gold and Boner gone, so much for the Family Ties reunion.
Re: Boner Bummer I don't see why Boner's death would effect a Family Ties reunion. And Tracey Gold is still very much alive.
Re: Boner Bummer He was not being selfish. When you get that depressed, it messes with your thought process. You have no idea what Andrew was thinking or feeling when he decided to take his own life. Often suicidal people think that their loved ones will be better off without them. BTW, the thread title sucks.
Re: Boner Bummer E! "News" is trying to manufacture a controversy over the fact that the Koenig's didn't appear on Larry King last night.
Re: Boner Bummer ^ It sounded like it was Larry King's fault, first pushing them out of their scheduled time slot, then pushing them back to the last segment of the show, then constantly going to commercial toward the end.
Re: Boner Bummer I dunno, maybe it's just me, but I find the thread title is bordering on the offensive.. I'm not talking about the use of the word "Boner" btw, just the fact that anyone would bother to try and make a witty, snappy sounding headline pun when a man has died.
Re: Boner Bummer i never knew Richard Boner Stabone was Chekov's son. RIP Andrew. Sorry to make light of a sad situation, but i always wondered how standard and practices allowed his character's name to be called Boner, especially since he also went by Dick instead of Richard. Again sorry if that sounded insensitive, always wondered rest in peace.
Re: Boner Bummer More R.I.P. Andrew. Condolences to Walter & Judith and family. there is also news of his pssing at Memory Alpha, the Star Trek Wiki I didn't know he (Andrew) played played Tumak in DS9 ep Sanctuary
Re: Boner Bummer Here's one of his best performances: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hjp0I_okX0w RIP man.
Re: Boner Bummer It's not just you. Treker, I knew Andrew. Admittedly, not as well as some, but I knew the guy. We talked about working together. He was a friend and a friend of many mutual friends. And he was hilarious. Suicide is not the product of someone being selfish. It's the after effect of someone losing all hope and the people around them failing to see it in time to do anything about it. This is a tragedy. It is NOT another opportunity to be a douche or to point fingers. My friend is dead. He took his life because he felt he had no way out. My pain, my grief is minimal compared to what his family is going through. For once, have some respect. And yes, for crying out loud, can someone please change the thread title?
Any death is a tragedy, and that tragedy is only multiplied when its the result of somebody being in so much pain that they no longer want to live. My condolences to all his family and friends. And the Thread title is shamefully insensitive.
