Two weeks ago I took my family to Disney World, so of course when we were in Epcot's Mexico pavilion, I *had* to pose with a sombrero! Please excuse the crappy camera phone pic. My youngest son looks like he's trying to eat the sombrero!

That's awesome! Thanks for sharing!! (your son is adorable)---that sombrero is freaking HUGE...it's like the size of the VLA!

That's from close to a year and a half ago; it's hard to say. An earlier, unanimated version of this, possibly.

Just when i think this thread cant possibly get any more badass and hilarious...the link to "Sombreroprise" appears.:guffaw:

I've loved that thing since the first time I saw it on YouTube.

Nah, it's perfect as it is! I love the fact that the thread has evolved in Sombrero Central, yet the original premise is occasionally returned to.

I love the Blue Warp nacelles title myself. As a matter of fact, I ignored the thread for months, thinking it would be filled with canon maniacs raving about the fact the the alternate Enterprise has blue warp nacelles, all the while wondering why it managed to remain on the front page.

Did you guys start at the beginning to see it's evolution? Its epic!

Also, highly recommended is the Spock Should Constantly Be Shouting thread. Again, you have to start at the beginning to appreciate all of it's cheesy goodness.

And, of course, last but not least, the Robau thread. We really should all kneel before the greatness of Herkimer Jitty for starting that one!

That would be quite correct; the same image with fewer silly things on the ship.

That's Carpe Occasio's site. I tried finding it yesterday, but I kept getting error messages -- still getting the same 404 today:

    http://www.ncc1701shipyard.com/sombrerosoftheline/sombreroprise.htm

    http://www.ncc1701shipyard.com/sombrerosoftheline

The most recent URL I find from him returns a 403 Forbidden error.

    http://www.sombrerosoftheline.com/

    Either something's broken or there's a newer URL I don't have.

I sent him a PM quite some time ago with no response to date. I was unable to locate those beautiful wallpapers he made for widescreen monitors from ST09. Has he been active on TrekBBS lately?

^ He's been kind of on-again, off-again for most of his time here -- not hearing from him for a few weeks isn't that uncommon -- maybe the workload at the day job picks up, or some other RL reason. The most recent posts I see for him are this one and this, both in late August and both about updates to the website.

You can't see my face very well but... There was an Estate sale thing, and there were Sombreros! Sadly I didn't have the money to buy it but... I had time to try it on and snap a picture with my phone.

I just found this picture while transferring pictures over to my new phone. I can't believe I forgot to put this up earlier! This is from September 7th!

I'm glad I got here early enough that all the links still worked. Luckily that youtube video pretty much covers it.
