I've been up and down in weight the last busy month. I've been between 242 and 253 pounds. I've spent a lot of time doing active things like walking on the beach, badminton (yes with the birdie) and of course lifting and cardio.

Two days after Leg Day my friend thought he was dying. He had to waddle everywhere he went.

However, despite the great pain he was in, he has still be going at it. His girlfriend told me he can't stop talking about working out with me. I typed up a workout routine for him, and he hung it on the fridge!

The only thing that really sucks is that he's basically been working twice as much as normal this week (so he's exhausted) and next week he's going out of town for vacation (so he won't be able to workout). I've been calling this his "practice week" just to get him used to the exercises and to get comfortable in the gym. Once he gets back from vacation, we'll start going at it full steam. I even made spreadsheets and a workout journal for him! I bought him a frickin binder!

I'm calling him my Personal Training Guinea Pig since I will hopefully be certified soon.

Had a better day at the plate today, going 2-2 with a BB. So, I finish our regular season at 12-20, or .600, which is way better than I did last year. Too bad our team finished with a 1-7 record. Will have to see how the playoffs go.

 That's awesome, RoJoHen. I'm sure he appreciates it.

My hubby usually acts as my trainer, but he's been on an Air Force assignment on the east coast for several months. :( My workout routine has completely gone to hell without him. (He says he's not doing much better out there, either.) Luckily we found out this week he's coming home at the end of September. YAayyyy! :D So I should be able to get back into some serious training then, with my workout buddy back in town.

Was at my old high school's running camp as a counselor this past week. Did a decent amount of running (~15miles for the week), lots of very tough hills, and lots of hiking.

Well, we won our first playoff game in extra innings; it was a real nail-biter. I wasn't spectacular going 2-4 with a K and a BB, but I managed to get a couple of RBIs and a RS, and that's what matters in the end.

    I'll be sore tomorrow.

And we're done with the playoffs. We fielded our banged-up and short-handed bottom seed against the top-seeded team and got a thrashing. I went 0-2 but had a good play at second base.

So, just because I like numbers and want to keep track of my own statistics, here's what I've got.

    Regular season: 12-20 (.600)
    Postseason: 2-6 (.300)
    Year: 14-26 (.539)

I'm about .100 higher than I was last year, so I'll take the improvement. :)

Sounds like you had a good year overall. Congrats!

All my exercise lately has been moving furniture as we redecorate our house. :vulcan:

Has anyone ever done a fitness boot camp? Are the results better than a regular workout regimen?

I might try a beach boot camp this weekeend if I can make it.

Had a fairly intense game of badminton for 1 hr then a 2 hr workout at the gym tonight.

    20 quatloos on the newcomer!

I'm trying to develop more flexibility so did yoga yesterday and now I'm sore.

Tomorrow night it's the pilates reformer.

I had an AWESOME workout tonight! The lack of drinking lately is really paying off.

That is why I no longer run. I bike, rollerblade or walk instead. :)

I'm pumped and huge!!! Just did a shoulder workout tonight...my new gym (yes another one) has a shoulder press hammer strength machine that holds 8 plates total, and I repped it. 2 sets, 275 lbs on the overhead press. Finished off later with HS machine shrugs, filled it with 10 plates, 2 sets.

I'm still lifting and doing cardio at least a couple of times a week. I plan to begin doing more. :D

I had a good exercise session last evening after I got off the computer. :D I lifted weights and did a little floor work.

I just destroyed my shoulders today for the first time in a long time. My right shoulder bothers me a lot, so I don't normally get to exercise it that much.

Hi guys, I'm pretty new to this board but I thought I'd share a bit about myself.

After 26 years I've finally decided it's time to get in shape. unfortunately my love for fast food and my dislike of exercise took its toll through the last decade of my life. About a month ago I decided enough was enough. I'm exercising every day and dieting... I've gone from 327 to 297 in the last month and am just praying I don't hit a plateau any time soon. Believe it or not even though I've lost 30 pounds I'm still really waiting for the obvious visible differences, but hopefully they'll come in soon.
