    Hello "fitness chickens".

I've been missing the old Miscellaneous thread where we checked in with what workouts we're doing, planning on doing, etc. This seemed like a separate thing from the support thread.

So here's what I've done the past several days:

    Saturday: Snowshoeing
    Sunday: XC Skiing
    Monday: Pilates
Tuesday: "Tone It Up" dvd (aerobic weight training)
    Wednesday: Nada
    Today: Pilates

Tomorrow I'm planning on going to the club at lunch and doing the elliptical. I will I will I will I will!

So what have you all been up to?

Ouch - it's amazing how we take things like our elbows for granted until they decide to act up on us.

Just joined a new gym and am in the process of figuring the place out. As small a muscle as it is, I kicked the crap out of my triceps on Tuesday, and they've been sore ever since. Obviously, they were being neglected at my old gym.

^I love a good triceps workout. I find building my triceps up to be the most satisfying body part to improve.

^It's really amazing how much bigger your arms look, too. So many people do curls upon curls, but they don't realize that your tricep is 2/3 of your arm!

Exactly. I can do more on a triceps press than I can curl.

I'm getting back in the swing of things. I had foot surgery 5 weeks ago and was on limited duty before that, and barely have done anything since.

I lifted Monday and Wednesday, did 45 minutes of cardio at the gym Tuesday, and walked my dog for about an hour last night.

    It's coming back, just slowly.

I did 20 minutes on the elliptical on wednesday
    not a good idea . . .
it doesn't sound like a lot, but considering I have a desk job and nothing resembling a regular workout schedule for several years, my legs are killing me . . . stairs are the worst at the moment. I feel like I need a cane :(

I did keep a steady heart rate and breathing pattern, but my legs just weren't ready for the equivalent of walking uphill in sand for a mile
not quitting, just have to ease into it . . . I want to get in shape, anything other than round will be good :D

Heavy deadlifts, bent-over barbell rows, bent-over dumbbell rows, lat pulldowns, standing dumbbell press, seated dumbbell press, lateral raises...twas a good workout!

I've been sick since New Year's Eve, but yesterday I finally felt good enough again to go to the gym. I did my usual, an hour on the elliptical and about 40 minutes of gymnastics, yoga and stretching. Did the same today.
Hopefully this will give my immune system the boost it needs to get rid of every last bit of this annoying virus that got me.

Today was a day off from lifting, I was going to go walk on the treadmill for 2 hours since it's way too cold out to go walk outside, but on my way to the car I slipped on the ice and nailed my knee sideway. So I think I'll wait till tomorrow to walk.

On Thurs I stopped working upper body. I Was planning on doing extra leg work. I have been pretty busy lately so I wound up taking fri thru Sunday off. Today I am off from work for the first time in 2 weeks, so I am getting ready to go twice today. Cardio and abs, and later, legs. I'll be doing legs twice this week. Meanwhile I'll be icing and taking Ibuprofen for my elbow for one more week to be sure. My diet has been almost immaculate. I'm dropping fat, and retaining muscle and (I was) retaining strength.

PS Where's your sig from? Tigersharks can't reach mach 3.

It's from Bloom County. :) I'll see if I can find the strip.

Good luck with the elbow. Is that a chronic thing, or something that came up with the recent training?

Not chronic really, happened once in Dec and I took a week and a half off but apparently it wasn't enough. It seems to happen when I do heavy triceps..first time was the day after doing heavy dips with multiple 45s.
