So the Resistance has a submarine. Amazing.

I am of course using sarcasm. They have been confirmed as having submarines before. They are: The USS Roosevelt and the Korolev.

^ More intriguing is the "scrubbed" captain.

Did I beat you to the punch again, nx?! :p:)

So, are you sending Cameron after me? You failed to do so last time. ;)

Classes suck. I finished my last grad class last year and am so happy.

^ I was only able to get Rosie. Sorry.

(Rosie was the contortionist bot that self destructed.)

USS Roosevelt? Odd, considering that it's a US aircraft carrier.

^ Yes I know that the Theodore Roosevelt is an Aircraft Carrier. The submarine USS Roosevelt doesn't exist - it is fictional and was created for T2: Future War (a novel from early 2002). The Korolev is also a fictional submarine.

:klingon: At least they could be *somewhat* realistic. C'est la vie.

^ They were novels so they don't really count.

To my European eyes, that's peanuts for a car like a Dodge Ram. Taking the $ -> € conversion into account, we pay that for, like, a VW Golf or so. With not too many options.

The "Jimmy Carter" really does exist, though. It's a hyper-modern US submarine, equipped with an extra "spy" module for deplying divers or tapping undersea cables. And heavily armed as well, including Tomahawk cruise missiles. I wonder if it will ever meet with "Skynet's arc", the old aircraft carrier (presumably the "Midway") from "Allison of Palmdale".

Yeah, the Jimmy Carter is a Seawolf class. It was so riddled with problems that the program was canceled after three copies.

Is it riddled with problems? I thought the only real problem was it was far too expensive to build them en-masse, and with the end of the cold war priorities shifted. AFAIK, Seawolf-class subs are considered extremely capably, perhaps even more so than their (slightly smaller and slower, though also slightly more modern) successors, the Virginia-class.
