The last time I went out for Halloween was when I was 9. My sister made me a very nice Superman costume, but unfortunately it was so cold that night that I spent very little time actually using it (I went to maybe four or five houses). Plus, the ski mask did not help.

I'm threatening to break out my Village of the Damned costume again. Because it's easy and funny and seems to creep the hell out of my Japanese teachers when I wear it to class.

Yeah. I only wish I could get colored contact lenses to go with it. That'd really spook them.

I'll be my standard demon. I'm adding another set of horns and a set of demonic wings this year.

I'm thinking I might be either Rorschach or classic Joker this year.

Either way, time for a thrift store run!

    ^Rorschach would be wonderfully creepy.

Some great ideas in here! I love that you put so much effort into it, Shaw!

I'm also glad you guys are reminding me of it because I usually forget until a couple of days before halloween. A couple of years ago I was lucky because my roommate's girlfriend works in a toy store and they had a marked down Rubies Ghostbuster costume, so I bought that and quickly got some other accessories together to make it look better.

I'd love to really make it accurate someday. Make my own proton pack and get an authentic flight suit, etc. But, as much as it bugs me how inaccurate it is, I did become a minor celebrity that year when I wore it while walking down The Main (kind of the main street in town, where everybody goes out at night). Girls were literally draping themselves over me, and every single person we passed wanted their picture taken with me. :D

Anyway, as for this year, I have no idea. Maybe I'll do the ghostbusters thing again, or wear that John Steedish outfit from last weekend, or maybe put on my old boy scout uniform or something. I should think of something clever, though. Clever costumes are the best.

becuase I work on halloween I must wear something that isnt too revealing. It is either that or I come up with something from the thrift store. My corset idea will only work for the couple parties I am going to. Not work.

You know you've hit costume gold when random people want to have their picture taken with you. It's a wonderful feeling!

Yeah, it is! And not just anybody, but everybody! :D

I definitely felt like I was using up some of my fifteen minutes.

My friends and I usually don't end up doing anything on Halloween, but Zombiefest and the Halloween pub crawl usually end up being the same night so we go to Zombiefest first, then head back to Ames for lots of drinking. Last year I was zombie Billy Corgan (I made these awesome completely uncomfortable silver pleather pants for it, lol) and my (now ex-)boyfriend was zombie Jesus so I got a sweet pic of us making out that's hilarious. This year my roommates and I want to be zombie clowns (how terrifying!). My friend wants to go to this pumpkin patch thing dressed as zombie T Bird and Pink Lady...somehow I always have to cross dress on halloween...

I've a few pics from zombiefests on my myspace page if anyone wants to go look ( http://www.myspace.com/lorigb )

My costume's easy. I'm planning on being a Viper pilot from BSG. All I need is a pair of green cargo pants, a black tank top, and a grey tank top (different sizes). Then maybe some black boots/shoes and some dog tags and presto! Most of the stuff I already have anyway

The last time I dressed up for Halloween, that's what I did. Well not Elvira, but that same direction.

I might just find a freaky clown mask and a black hoodie and spray fake blood all over myself.

I'm not sure about doing the Ghostbusters thing this year. I noticed that Target has quite a few of those costumes available this year, so it wouldn't exactly be "original".

I did that once back around the late 80s, long before there were Ghostbusters costumes available. Had to make my own proton pack & everything, which got a lot of great comments. My dad actually borrowed it the next year for a costume party!

Hmm, that's true. It's become kitschy and retro, which is a little obnoxious.

That's really cool, though. I found some delicious proton pack plans online awhile ago that I really want to use to make an authentic looking proton pack sometime. I also really want to make the goggles and a trap.

Speaking of kitschy and retro, since this thread is still lacking good costume pictures, I'm going to post a picture of this amazing costume my friend made last year...

If that's not impressive enough, the 'speaker' actually works. He writes his own 8bit music on his gameboy and had this costume wired up with a stereo, hence the rocking out.

And that, Hermiod, is Hipster with a capital 'H'.

^I'm more interested to know why that girl appears to be wearing a Guiness bottle for a skirt.

I posted this down in the Commies lounge, but I need more opinions...

Check out this site -> http://www.specterstore.com/store/catalog/wings.html

I need opinions on what type of wings to buy, I can't decide between the bat wings, dragon wings, or demon wings.

I'll be wearing a long black rob with a black velvet collar, gold trim. Black boots, and long black leather gloves with gold trim. My face will be red, with my eyes blacked out. Also I'll have a pair of black devil horns on my forehead and a small pair of black horns coming out of my cheek/jawline area.

So what type of wings do you think would go best?
