Let´s about talk money even though it doesn´t exist in the 24th century. Rick Berman co-created Deep Space Nine, Voyager and Enterprise. Did this make him rich? Does anyone know what kind of deal he got? (There may be some Paramount insiders lurking here)
Rick Berman bathes in a tub full of quarters and wipes his butt with 10s and 20s... and points and laughs at G4 coverage of conventions and reruns of Trek on TV. Late at night, he sneaks out to Gene Roddenberry's grave and pees on it while lighting his cigar with a 50.
I've never heard anyone call him Rich Berman although I bet his full first name is Richard. You mean this wasn't the question? Nevermind.
While I think some of you are being too hard on him ("bathes in the blood of Trekkies"??, geez.) I do think the question is a fair one. The thing to remember is that Berman works in HOLLYWOOD. Asking if he's rich is like asking if the sky is blue.
Yes, I am quite sure developing a hit show pays well. But there are some differences, he did not create Star Trek; he just developed and ran the brand for Paramount. And his three series were only moderately successful compared to TNG. So he must be far from Aaron Spelling rich.
Patrick Steward may have made more. He surely got several millions as the lead on TNG and at least between 10-20 millions from the four movies. He also got millions from the X-men trilogy.
In addition to the big money he collected while working on Trek Berman is getting some nice royalty checks in the mail every month.
