    Hi,
Just joined. Known about the board for a few years now, but have been busy with other things. Wanted to join when time permitted. NOw seems to be a good time. Been a Trek fan since 1973 when I first saw it at age 7. Prefer TOS. A tad rusty Star Fleet Battles player. Collected almost everything Stephen Cole created for the game till 1996. Primary interest in the game is in close in combat tactics and ship management. Don't get to play much these days after getting married in 2001. Wanted to be a special effects artist and modelor and later an animator. Finances didn't work out, but still a fan.

Been a regular of Dennis Bailey's most excellent site ( united worlds.com... )since Oct 2003. I am a big fan of Dennis Bailey's CGI starship models. Especially those he has done for "The Tressarian Intersection". Avid fan of Starship Exeter. Currently attmepting to a Exeter fan mini-series as a conceptual demo for a Exeter TV season. Want to see Exeter do many more episodes, and very much would ike to see something like it be the future of Trek in a continuation.

Like the Trek fan films. Alot of them springing up in the past few years. More than I can shake a stick at, or cram through a 56k modem.

    Ah, hello, everyone. ^_^; My name is Wheo, and...when I discovered the greatness that is a Star Trek forum, I decided to join, so...hi. I'm a bit of a fangirl, but I'll try to tone down the rabid-ness; no guarantees, though. ^_^;

:vulcan: <-----ZOMG, that's friggin' awesome! ...that is all.......

Yes mam...I's new here too as of Saturday. Big board....lots of topics and lots of traffic. I can spend alot of time here if I'm not careful. After all the wife and son want some of my time too.

TOS Trek fan....Star Fleet Battles player since 1982.....also like Galactica...Anime...mostly older like Yamato and Gundam and Macross and Maison Ikkoku...wanted to be a Japanese animator...but sacking groceries didn't bring in the bacon to pay for that dream which died a horrible death. Studied various anime and manga artists and their styles. As of late in the past few years have become a HUGE Starship Exeter fan. Has helped rejump start my interest in Trek and other related things.

    "Returns bow in earnest. "Mam."

Nothing for weeks, but when I turn my head I discover 3 (three) new members in this thread -just goes to show: I should never -ever- go off-line! :rommie:

    LeopardessGirl, Robert Simmons and Wheo!

Don't take anything on this board too serious and you'll never leave.

    C'm'ere LeopardessGirl [IMG]

The avatars, Robert Simmons, are a mix of two exclusive T-BBS memes at the moment, normally they're a lot more sombre (if less fun though)

*Squee* another fangirl! -you people really light up the board! -As I understand it it was one of you that started this 'sexy guy avatar week' (I have joined in on the fun b/c I luv all that eye-candy the girls are wearing and want to give a little in return :rommie: )

Thanks. I kindof gathered that sensing some form of silly competition. OF all the excellent ones I think Maurice's ( DS9Sega ) is the best with his Kirk and Spock in landing party mode done in traditional Japanese warrior art style. It wins my "Most Origional And Creative" Award. To me that is a REAL JEM!

I planned on posting an Avatar...but it says I need to crank out 50 posts first. So in the meantime as a way to break the ice here's a photos of me and my son 3 years ago in a miniture Live Steam train park. The photo is a accurate representation of what I look like today. Well...maybe 20 pounds heavier.

Edit: I don't see in my "Reply to Thread" window for attachments for selecting or uploading. Any help would be appreciated. Also tried to insert image, but did not give me a dialogue to toggle and navigate to my disc to select the image. Something I am missing?

AFAIK it's hundred posts before you can have an avatar or post images.

Only paying members can attach stuff (I think) and as payment is not possible at the moment…

You'll need to have your image hosted someplace else -like ImageShack or Photobucket- and use IMG-tags to post it in-line, like these: [IMG](well, xcept for the little yellow feller of course)

But you can post a link to your image ;)

Like this? It's a little more tedious than how Dennis Bailey's board does it. Thank you for the assist.

    Like what?

    Like this:

    http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b44/trekkiedane/Avatars/Splosh-HaHa.gif

    (an avatar of mine)

And when you have enough posts, just put it like this:

    [*IMG*]http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b44/trekkiedane/Avatars/Splosh-HaHa.gif[*/IMG*]
    (without the asterisks of course)

And the result will be like this: [IMG]
