I was always more concerned how the blast shield that came down out of the ceiling severed the intermix chamber, and yet warp drive continued to function uninterrupted (aside from the actual damage taken from Khan's attack). The door was still closed when the "mains came back online". Always bugged the hell out of me, even as a kid seeing it for the first time.

I always figured that black stripe in the middle of the door contained special conduits for the drive plasma to be pumped through in case of an emergency.

Was FJ's warp graph really displayed on the engineering consoles? The man's stuff was everywhere!

Oh, I'm not sure. In TWOK, the screen flickers through some schematics, including some FJ deck plans. So I cobbled together some random technical looking FJ schematics from the tech manual, the warp graph being one of them.

I was going to suggest the ceiling of the upper level as the primary light source, but looking again at this screencap I see it's actually pretty dark up there!

Donny, the reflections on the wall panels look awesome :)

You know, the only lights I've placed so far are where the warp core will eventually go once I get it built, and things looks pretty good and accurate to the lighting in the movie, in a very general sense. Maybe the actual set was lit by the warp core itself?

Yeah--the impulse drive should have still worked--I can only assume the nacelles had enough plasma left in them for a brief jump to safety.

After posting that last shot, I realized I wasn't satisfied with the lighting. While TMP had a darker lighting scheme in Engineering, TWOK was more brightly lit. Therefore, I've tried to capture that TWOK-feel in these new shots:

Me too and me too. The forced perspective set fooled me and only much later I understood that door was put there so they could move the camera around the set.

    made me think of this:

There's no telling where that shaft ends. I thought it would be sort of funny (in a Robot Chicken kind of way) if Lando and Wedge had to dodge Palpy's falling corpse as they make their attack on the reactor core.

Ideally, you would think Palpatine would have been able to Force-push himself onto one of those catwalks. Oh well.
