That's actually supposed to be reflected light off an earth-like planet but now that you mention it, it is a bit green. I've still got some clean-up to do around the Wyvern cannons and a few more gridlines to add to the black areas, but otherwise the primary hull is just about ready to start cutting in windows. I'm probably going to finish the gridlines on the secondary hull first, though. Should have more to show this weekend.
Well, the model has been 80-90% complete for at least half a decade, so "close to finished" is a relative term. Having said that, I'd like to think that I won't still be working on this a year from now, or even six months from now, but life is busier for me right now than it has ever been so we'll see how it goes.
On one hand it will be awesome to see her finished and in all her glory, on the other hand we'll not have a thread going anymore where everyone is just waiting for the next update how small it may be.. its become kind of a tradition so to say.
Looking great! Is there a story behind the registry? Los Angeles ZIP code? British rock album? And why NFC? --Alex
Starfleet ships always look so great from this angle. 90125? That would put it somewhere near Beverly Hills wouldn't it? Hey! What is that trapezoidal detail on the underside of the primary facing the neck going to be?
Probably something greebly. Other suggestions have been made, such as a work pod docking bay, but this ship has an abundance of bays and hangar decks already. We'll just have to see what develops.
Make it where the exit ramp extends from when the primary hull lands "Forbidden Planet" style. ETA: hmmm, on closer inspection, it appears that's part of the cobra head.
