    I'll probably have a PS4 near end of the year, thanks to E3. I doubt I'll get a 360.

All the American games I want will be multiplatform and all the Japanese games I want will either be multiplatform, PS4 exclusives, or Wii U exclusives.

Just preordered the UK-exclusive, steel book case Limited Edition of Halo: The Master Chief Collection from GAME.

    I'm such a sucker.

... aaand it's done. XBONE ordered from Amazon Warehouse Deals, factory-sealed, EUR 334.84. Impossible to refuse. ;)

Also, second controller and Destiny (GAME.co.uk's Vanguard Edition).

The sad thing is, I will play Destiny to death (all the while complaining about its shortcomings) until Halo: MCC releases in November, which I will also play to death.

As I've said, I'm such a sucker. Especially when it comes to Bungie's world-building. And closely related to that, Halo. Oh well, at least I'm a happy sucker ;)

Despite PS4 obviously packing more punch in its hardware, between Titanfall since March, and Halo come November, my XBO is getting a lot more use. That and the way it got itself between my cable box and my screen doesn't hurt either. Now I get game invites while I'm watching TV and not even thinking about playing some multiplayer. It's not necessarily a good thing for my productivity, but I'm starting to appreciate some of the things Microsoft is doing with their OS a lot more these days.

Still going to do COD and most multi-plat stuff on PS4 though.

That's definitely the sensible way to go for those who own both platforms right now.

No worries, I'm sure you'll love it, I just can't take MS all that seriously these days.

I'm probably not going to be grabbing a PS4 for a good while though. I still play my PS3 more than anything and I don't see that many titles I'd like to get for a new platform just yet.

Quite a few of the launch titles have been mediocre on seeing the gameplay and hearing all the letdowns, bugs etc

Well, I think my custom user title and location field are give-aways that I feel similarly ;) Without Halo, PS4 would have been a no-brainer as the first current-gen buy.
Yeah I can see that and I feel pretty much the same, at the moment there aren't any exclusives that would force my hand on the PS4 side. Persona 5 and Silent Hills (if the latter turns out to be exclusive) might make me pull the trigger on that console in 2015 though.

If Sega's big 2015 "Sonic Next-Gen" project turns out to be any good around November next year it could give a bit of a boost for the Xmas sales. And possibly give me more incentive to upgrade, but after Lost World...hmm.

I will simply say that at first, I was fully ready to embrace both PS4 and Xbox One in this generation (as I have both PS2 and PS3 and Original Xbox and Xbox 360). I always felt that by owning both major consoles of a given generation, I got around the exclusivity problem.

But this generation, Microsoft really shot themselves in the foot, and continue to do so. That turned me off from even looking at an Xbox One....as I have no doubts that sometime in the future, they will try to reinstate the policies that turned a majority of gamers (many of whom were at one point the Xbox Faithful) against them in the first place. So, this means I'll be missing out on the future of the Halo series...but so be it. I have Destiny on PS4, and am loving it. (I was glad to see Bungie get out from under the Microsoft thumb).

For those who have Xbox One's, I am happy for you, and I hope the console brings you many years of entertainment....and I will hope I am wrong about the (widely held) notion of MS reverting back to its initially intended policies for that console. But any love I had for the Xbox brand died with Xbox One. 360 is as far as I will go.

My PS4 has taken on the active duty role of "Netflix machine," but otherwise it hasn't gotten too much use yet. I played "Infamous: Second Son," and I downloaded the DLC "First Light." Both were a lot of fun.

I attempted to play Watch Dogs, but I thought it was unbelievably boring.

At this point I'm biding my time until next year. I know that this system will be awesome, and there are several games I'm really looking forward to, but right now it's not fulfilling its true potential.

^Anxiously awaiting Alien Isolation in a few days, and PlayStation TV the week after that so I can play my PS4 in my bedroom if others are watching PS3 Netflix in the living room. (My PS4 also resides in the living room.)

Been enjoying competitive multiplayer on PS4 Destiny, but once Isolation comes out, I shall likely be lured away from Destiny for a while....after which I will be slightly out of practice on Destiny, and finding my butt getting stomped again until I get back into the swing of things. LOL!

It hasn't even been out a full year yet. Has any console had a good library in the first 12 months? Maybe the Dreamcast, but that's about it.

SNES had a ridiculously good library 12 months into its North American life... highlights for me would be: Super Mario World, A Link to the Past, Contra 3. Super Castlevania IV, Legend of Mystical Ninja, F-Zero, Final Fantasy II, Pilotwings, Super Star Wars, Street Fighter 2.

I stand corrected. That is a ridiculously good library.
