Personally I have no problem with the thread title remaining the same. I like Savage Dragon's suggestion though if you really want to change it.

Has anyone tried the Armor Hunters from VALIANT? It's a fairly good self contained entry point into the VU if you've been looking for one. It's been really good! I'd also like to add that I feel Dark Horse is also doing a great job w/their revised super hero line tagged "Project Black Sky". Captain Midnight, Ghost, X, Brain Boy, Blackout, Skyman and King Tiger are the players thus far. DH has been teasing Barb Wire as coming soon.

I've never heard of Project Black Sky, but I'd heard of a few of the individual books, like Captain Midnight. They seem to get mixed reviews online, but a few of them look interesting, although not enough for me to try any out right now. Still, its always nice to see one of the non big two companies put out some superhero stuff. When it comes to Valiant, Harbinger was a pretty good book. It ended recently, but its got a mini series right now which I think is transitioning into a second volume. For other stuff not from the big two, just because I'm thinking about it now, Gail Simone's Red Sonja comic published by Dynamite is very good. I'd never read anything with the character before Simone's run, but its been enjoyable. Another one I'm reading is Saga from Image. Its a hard one to recommend, because it frequently goes overboard with its mature rating, but its core story is a pretty good sci fi themed story about a couple from two warring species if you can get past its pretty extreme language, violence and sexual stuff. Nailbiter is another decent Image book an FBI agent who heads to a town famous for its serial killers when he gets a call from a friend. It can be a bit bloody, but so far its interesting. The two new Doctor Who books from Titan comics, one for the 10th Doctor and one for the 11th, are also pretty good so far, at least if you like Doctor Who. For my last non Big 2 book I'm reading Dynamite's current Vampirella volume, but I wouldn't exactly recommend it. Its not bad, but its not soon enough to say if it will be worthwhile. I thought volume 1 was ok, although it fluctuated in quality a good bit, so I'm giving this a chance.

^^^^^^ The Valiant does indeed look to be a great read! As a VALIANT reader I'm also glad to see Kay Henry the Geomancer getting some more exposure since her initial debut. Admiral Young is the involvement of Jeff Lemire what's got you on board for this one? Glad you're still enjoying it! My goal is to read the first arc of SD with #200. I'm hoping that's a good "try it out" arc. King Tiger, from 90's Comics Greatest World, has had a 5 page back up story in each of Blackouts mini. King Tiger is graduating to a full mini later this year they've teased. As well as a return of Barb Wire.
Since I think I am the only resident Savage Dragon fan it falls to me to post this. Erik Larsen has written a Savage Dragon screenplay. His expectations are pretty realistic, but it would be awesome if it actually got made.

I got the first digital collection of the Vertigo comic Hinterkind yesterday after reading and really enjoying the free first issue last week. I used part of my birthday money early (my B-day is Friday), and once more comes in I'll probably pick up some more comics. I can't remember if I asked this before, but have any of you guys read any of the Aspen comics? I'm mainly interested in Soulfire, Fathom, Executive Assistants, Charismagic, and Lola XOXO.
I haven't read any Aspen comics. The only Fathom I am familiar with is from the Bill Willingham series "Elementals". Has anyone picked up the Edge of Spider-Verse stuff? I'm enjoying it so far. It's kind of nice to see Doc Ock again.
is Doc Ock in the "Edge of the Spider-Verse" comic? I thought it was just an anthology of alt-Spideys? does it directly tie into the big storyline?
Superior Spider-Man #32 takes place in the middle of a previous issue which involved time travel (I can't remember the exact issue). Spoiler: How it ties in to the main story It seems that Doc Ock will be gathering an army of alternate Spider-Men to combat a dangerous enemy they can't face on their own. I think Doc Ock and Peter will come face-to-face in Amazing Spider-Man # 10. So Doc Ock would seem to have a fairly significant role in all this.
Is anyone here a fan of non-superhero comic books? I am not dissing on superheroes For me, the best stories usually involve some sort of high concept that isn't about comparative superpowers, or even non-superpowered main characters.
