William Shatner isn't waiting for George Takei to appear on his show to begin hitting a raw nerve.
As reported by The Shatner Project, took pokes at Takei while explaining why Takei hasn't yet appeared on Raw Nerve. "There's a process that George has to be vetted, like you would vet a horse that you were going buy or a wife that you were going to marry," explained Shatner. "You got to vet 'em, you got to do a research, you got to Google 'em. George is being Googled even as we speak. A&E Network needs to OK each name."
Shatner assured Takei that he would be invited, while at the same time insulting him. "Apparently George wants to be [on the show] but George wants to be everywhere. So George, we've got your name on a list. We want to invite you, so now we need A&E's permission."
According to Shatner, it's now OK to invite celebrities like Takei. "We needed people with celebrity value...to get people to watch. Now that people are watching, I'm sure we can step outside and get people with less celebrity, like George."

I suspect this entire "feud" was cooked up by Shatner and Takei as a means of keeping their names in the press. I call shenanigans.

I disagree. I think Shatner is every big as rude and egotistical as he comes across in his post. His age may certainly be heightening it, but he needs to get off the air and out of the spotlight. It's just embarassing, and his attitude is becoming the exact opposite of the thing Trek stood for.

personally i dont think he said anything really out of line. after the way he's been attacked in the media by his former co-stars who can blame him for taking a few shots at them.
I'm kind of getting tired of this whole thing, and I think it's more Shatner than Takei that's keeping it up (though both are doing their part) so I'm gonna go ahead and say that Shatner just needs to let it go.
