Nimoy On His Photography

Photography complements his other artistic side, says actor Leonard Nimoy.

As reported by al.com, Nimoy's interest in photography goes back to his young teens. "I started taking photographs when I was about thirteen years old, using a family camera that I still have," said Nimoy. He still has some of those early photos dating back to the 1940s.

Although both photography and acting are about creating, there are differences between the two. "I just fell in love with the whole idea of creating an image," said Nimoy of photography. "It's quite different from what an actor does. An actor produces something that you can't hold in your hand."

Some people were surprised about his choice of projects. In "The Full Body Project," Nimoy photographed large women, some of whom posed nude. "I think that's what has surprised some people," said Nimoy. "Some have written about the nudity. But generally most people are not surprised to find out anymore that I'm a photographer. The work has had enough recognition now that if they haven't seen it, they've probably heard about it."

Nimoy will be speaking about his photography at the University of Alabama at Birmingham on Friday, February 5th, at 7:30 P.M., at Volker Hall.

Most people aren't surprised anymore that Nimoy has a thing for naked fat chicks.

I remember stumbling upon that site looking for info on him for a project at Uni. It was not the best Google result I'd seen
