New 'Star Trek XI' Pictures!

After months of secrecy with only the occasional spy photo emerging, several Star Trek XI photos have emerged.

As reported by UGO, today ended the drought of Star Trek XI photos, with several websites each showing a different photo. UGO's photo of the crew as seen here includes, from left to right, Anton Yelchin (Chekov,) Chris Pine (James T. Kirk,) Simon Pegg (Lt. Montgomery Scott,) Karl Urban (Dr. McCoy,) John Cho (Sulu) and Zoe Saldana as Uhura. Note that Kirk appears to have a facial injury.

The next shot, from Ain't It Cool News, shows a confrontation between Spock and Kirk. There is another Spock/Kirk picture at TrekMovie, taken from the cover of Entertainment Weekly (which should be out this weekend.) The magazine will have behind-the-scenes photos according to TrekMovie.

TrekMovie also has a battle shot of a ship, the USS Kelvin.

MTV offers a beautiful shot of Captain Kirk on the Enterprise Bridge, with Doctor McCoy nearby. The picture can be seen here.

An intriguing shot of Kirk climbing out of a pod into some type of icy crater can be seen at IGN. Damon Lindelof explained, "This is right around the midpoint of the movie. One of the things that's at the heart of the Trek universe...is the idea of the 'away team.' The idea that it's not just about people shooting around in a starship, but they also go down to these planets."

And finally, no movie is complete without a baddie. JOBLO offers a picture of the villainous Romulan Nero, played by Eric Bana.

To see the pictures, head to the article located here.

I think Urban looks awesome as McCoy.

The bridge looks . . . strange. Dunno if I like it.

The bridge is certainly the biggest revelation to me. It is sooo.... bright. I need to see more of it...

Very cool. The shot of bridge definitely has a very different look than what I was expecting (reminds me of the Relativity from Voyager), but I'm willing to go with it for now. I really like full cast (minus Spock) pic.

That EW weekly cover makes Spock look a little on the plastic side.

I saw the picture of Spock first. That was my first look at the uniforms and they're nice. These Starfleet uniforms look like the originals, but with more texture and detail, just like Superman's outfit from Superman Returns.

The picture with the full crew looks like a shot from a Star Trek: Power Rangers.

Still love it tho.

Re: New 'Star Trek XI' Pictures!

The AICN photo looks too much like Sylar, not Spock. Pity we can't have head unzipping action in the new Trek movie. I'm loving Sylar to much this season to the point where I wish Quinto wasn't playing Spock.

It's gratifiying to finally see some still shots, after months of bitching about the near-total lack of pix. I too, want to see more of the bridge to really get an idea of how it looks, but from what I can see, it's pretty impressive.

Different, yeah, but impressive nonetheless.

Hell yeah! These pics were worth the wait. For months, we had nothing, and then Xmas came early. I am loving the new uniforms. And yes, McCoy looks great!
