Charity Aims To Fulfill Boy's 'Star Trek' Dream

The Dreamz 4U charity is hoping to convert the bedroom of a eleven-year-old Star Trek fan into a bit of a Star Trek haven for the disabled boy.

As reported by The Northern Scot, Grant Alderton had a rough start to life and things haven't got easier for him, but his family describes him as a very happy boy who is happiest when watching Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Born prematurely, Alderton was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and relies on a wheelchair. He has vision issues and is autistic.

His family nominated him for an "extreme bedroom make-over," where themed artwork, mobiles and lights will make his bedroom a bit like the Enterprise. "Grant likes being in his own space and if someone was able just to make his bedroom nice for him, it would be fantastic," said his mother Vicki Alderton.

Dreamz 4U was launched fifteen months ago and has helped over one hundred children from around the UK. It relies on donations to help fulfill the dreams of children like Alderton. Their website is located here.

Is that guy from England still trying to sell off his Trek apartment? Maybe they can cut a deal which would make both parties happy.

That guy wanted a million+. Ha.

I have visions of this being like that early Friends episode... a bit of tin foil and someone making some noises.
