'Star Trek XI' Casting News
One actress said "yes," but one actor declined the opportunity to appear in Star Trek XI. As reported by Maxim, actress Diora Baird, seen in the recently released My Best Friend's Girl, has a part in next May's Star Trek XI where she will play an Orion. "I play the green girl," she said. When asked if she was playing an alien, Baird said, "Um, I would assume so, unless I was born with a skin disease. In the original series, there were these infamous green women that Captain Kirk would hit on, and so without giving too much away, I'm one of those green girls." Not all who were offered parts on Star Trek XI were eager to accept, as reported by Entertainment Weekly. Writer-Comedian Ricky Gervais (The Office) said "no" when approached for a part on the J.J. Abrams film. "I was never a big fan, so I would've felt guilty taking the part just to be in a blockbuster," explained Gervais. "To what? Boost my profile?" Star Trek XI wasn't the only film offer turned down by Gervais. He also said "no" to Pirates of the Caribbean 2, The Da Vinci Code, a remake of Arthur, and the Magnum P.I. movie. Interesting about Gervais. I wonder what role he was up for?

I wonder if Kirk will hit her, because Kirk learned that hitting women is okay from his Drunkle. Of course, Spock will then shout "The Women!" and Kirk will learn the error of his ways.
What? Too dark?

Re: 'Star Trek XI' Casting News
So Ricky Gervais turned down the role as Orion Slave Girl??
I will sooooooooooo boycott this film if Gervais isn't an Orion Slave Girl!!
I would pay to see that.

Re: 'Star Trek XI' Casting News
Anyone think Ricky Gervais might be a closet Trekkie? I seem to get that impression a lot from him.
