'Star Trek' Trailer Tidbits

Spaceship battles, hand-to-hand combat, Spock interacting with a parent, and other cast members were seen recently in a preview of the trailer from Star Trek XI press screening in England.

As reported by Ain't It Cool News AICN member Icaddy claims to have been amongst the fortunate few who were able to attend a London Paramount press screening.

"We saw the teaser trailer and then we saw what looked to be a very, very early version of the full trailer," said Icaddy. The trailer included footage of the "big three" as well as John Cho. "It showed more footage of Quito as Spock," said Icaddy, "much more Chris Pine and also some John Cho and Simon Pegg footage."

Star Trek XI looked like "immense fun," said Icaddy. "There seems to be a lot of action in it. The look of the crew and the bridge is spot on and the costumes look like the original but with a more modern and practical twist."

Icaddy then added a few specific details. "We got to see Spock talking to his parent as well and Kirk being told to take more responsibility," he said. "There were also a lot of montage scenes involves spaceship battles, gun fights and hand-to-hand combat."

To read more, including previews of other films seen by Icaddy at the screening, head to the article located here.

Modern and practical twist = fits correctly?

Since I haven't seen any pictures or footage, keeping myself spoiler free, and really, not caring. I'm gonna guess non washed out colors and maybe buttons and zippers?

If you click on the link and read the full text at AICN, you'll see at the end where he states it looks like Paramount is going to release a load of major trailers in November... So I'm guessing that's when this will hit the screens (and the Internet) as well.

Just my guess, but it seems likely based on that comment.

What are Parmount's big fall movies? That's what they're probably attach the final trailer to.

Body of Lies -- Ridley Scott, Leonardo DiCaprio, Russell Crowe.

Eagle Eye? Max Payne?

Paramount doesn't look to be having any big fall movies.

That's okay, at least the trailer will be online for us to gander at over and over.
