TV director Jud Taylor, who worked on Star Trek as well as other television shows and movies, passed away August 6th in New York City.

As reported by Variety, Taylor, a veteran director who was nominated for an Emmy in 1977, passed away after a long illness.

Taylor directed several episodes of Star Trek including: The Paradise Syndrome, Wink of an Eye, Let That Be Your Last Battlefield, The Mark of Gideon and The Cloud Minders.

Some television movies on which Taylor worked include: Tail Gunner Joe, for which he was nominated for the "Outstanding Directing in a Special Program - Drama or Comedy" Emmy; Foxfire; The Old Man and the Sea; Out of Darkness; A Question of Honor and Flesh & Blood.

Taylor directed various episodes of television seasons, including such shows as The Fugitive, Dr. Kildare, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., The Man from Shenandoah, The Girl from U.N.C.L.E., Hawkins and Then Came Bronson.

President of the Director's Guild of America (DGA) from 1981-1983, Taylor helped to advance affirmative action provisions for both women and minorities during his tenure.

Taylor is survived by his wife, Lynn Kressel, two daughters, a granddaughter and a sister.

For a second, I thought this thread was referring to actress Jud Tylor.

RIP, Jud Taylor.

I remember seeing him in an interview. Nice guy. By the way, he was 76.

@T'Bonz: When writing an obit, ALWAYS give the person's age. You'll learn this in journalism class. For example:

"TV director Jud Taylor, who worked on Star Trek as well as other television shows and movies, passed away August 6th in New York City. He was 76."

Re: Jud Taylor Passes

I did. It's in the part that is on Trektoday, not TrekBBS. I have a "short description" field and it's in that part.

http://www.trektoday.com/

Here is the part you see when you go on that page:

Aug 24 - Jud Taylor Passes
Director of television movies and shows dead at age seventy-six.

The submission never made it to me.

And evidently, there have been issues with my own email which is why it never made it from C to me either.

I debated not posting it due to the time lag when I finally DID get it. But I felt it was still newsworthy.

The email issue has been sorted. Stupid Bellsouth!
